annoyance-part 2 QUESTION from Colleen on April 13, 2002 Hi Br. Ignatius,
Another question/mention. Once, during a stay at a retreat house where I was attending a series of studies in spiritual direction this happened. My roommate and dear friend/spiritual sister said she woke up in the middle of the night and noticed that I was sound asleep. She said she saw this dark figure with its head covered sitting on the edge of the bed, bent over and appeared to be talking with me. Said he looked dejected and mumbling. She was very sleepy but just took her holy water and sprinkled it over around me and went back to sleep.
She asked me how I slept the next day and if I felt ok...which I did. She was reluctant, but then did tell me about this. She said she was not afraid and just used the holy water and told it to leave.
We talked and decided since it was a retreat house, holy and very orthodox they are probably all over the place. I've never been concerned about it but was wondering if you think there may be a connection to what I posted earlier. I appreciate you time in answering. Colleen

Yes, these sorts of things happen. I have had the same thing happen to me.
This is one reason why we need to say our prayers before going to bed and asking God for protection.
You did the right thing in response to the situation.
