Evolution and the Big-Bang QUESTION from Michael December 16, 1998 I am looking for the Church's stand on the Theory of evolution and the Big-Bang. I believe that the Church accepts these as theories within the doctorine as long as God is at the centre of Creation, making life possible and allowing it to evolve along His vision. Would I be misinformed to say this? Michael

Sorry to take so long to answer you.
The Pope gave a speech to the Pontifical Academy of Science which I think sums up the Church's position on science.
There has been some controversy and misunderstanding of this speech, so I include at the end of the document two other documents that help to properly interpret the speech.
