Liturgy & Liturgical Law Forum: Eucharistic Prayers
Eucharistic Prayers QUESTION from Howie on March 14, 2002 Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again. in our parish this prayer is said by the priest as Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come to us.
Is this one of the 13 acceptable prayers you have mentioned? Also where can I find all the 13 Eucharistic prayers in one place?
Thanks
ANSWER by Mr. Jacob Slavek on March 24, 2002 Dear Howie,
No, this is not part of the thirteen approved prayers. Actually, for this acclamation, there are only four that are approved, Christ has died Christ is risen, Christ will come again being one of them. They are a part of the thirteen approved Eucharistic prayers.
I do not believe that all four are available at the same place. Nine are in the Sacramentary, and the other four are published in a separate booklet. Try a bookstore that sells liturgical texts.
Remember that these last four prayers are basically the same with differences being in the intentions and prefaces.
Mr. Slavek
