My friend in Pakistan just sent me this email:25 Christians made hostages in Pakistan
Twenty-five Christians have been abducted by Muslim extremists in Peshawar, Pakistan. The armed extremists abducted 25 Christians including men, women and children while they were praying in a house at Banarasabad, Academy Town, Peshawar, Pakistan.According reports, Muslim extremists came on 12 vehicles with heavy arms and ammunition and entered in a house where some Christian families were busy to worship. The gunmen threatened the Christians to stop praying and ordered to follow them. They made 25 Christian’s hostages and put them into their vans and cars and disappeared in Khyber Agency area. Islamists have been taken the Christians in the areas where insurgents/militants are attacking on anti terrorists forces in northern areas of Pakistan. The law and enforcement agencies have been ordered to get those Christians released soon. Christians are terrified in Pakistan after this news. People are praying in groups and some are planning to protest through processions, press statements etc. NWFP is the state where USA and allies are suspecting those terrorists are organizing themselves against anti terrorist forces. The recent aerial bombardment on northern areas of Pakistan by allied forces has been strongly condemned. It is believed that Christians have been made hostages in retaliation of the US attacks in northern areas of Pakistan. In recent months there have been reports of Christian’s abductions and government did not pay any attention. Please pray for the hostages.

UPDATE ON HOSTAGES
My friend in Pakistan sent this email this morning:Dear Brother, Blessings and greetings!Thanks for your prayers and time over the phone. Just want to tell you a quick note that Lord has answered our prayers and the hostage Christians have been released with the help of law enforcement agencies. It was observed that Lashkiray Islam a militant Muslim group abducted them. The militants tried to convert the Christians to Muslim. The Christians refused and they were abducted. I thank brothers and sisters for their prayers and concern. With much love and peace

Praise be to God - that is nothing short of miraculous that the hostages were released unharmed. What incredible courage and faith those people have to refuse to allow militants to force Islam on them with guns. They have given a powerful witness to those militants and to the whole world that even if others wish to intimidate, torture or kill them, that those terrorists can do nothing to take away the reason for their hope.
