VISION OF POPE LEO XIII QUESTION from SUZANNE DUKE November 6, 2000 DEAR SIR,
I HOPE I HAVE CHOSEN THE CORRECT WEBSITE SO I AM NOT WASTEING YOUR TIME.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THE PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL WAS COMPOSED BY POPE LEO XIII IN RESPONSE TO A VISION IN WHICH HE WAS SHOWN THE BATTLE TO BE WAGED BETWEEN SATAN AND SAINT MICHAEL OVER THE CHURCH OF THE FUTURE.
IN ANOTHER VERSION I'VE HEARD, THE POPE FAINTED DURING A MASS AND, WHILE SEEING NOTHING, HEARD SATAN CLAIMING THAT HE COULD CONQUER HUMANS IF GOD WOULD LIGHTEN UP...SO TO SPEAK. THE STORY GOES THAT GOD GAVE SATAN 100 YEARS TO DO HIS WORST.
FINALLY CURIOUS FOR MORE ACCURATE AND COMPLETE INFORMATION, I HAVE TRIED TO CHECK THIS STORY OUT AT MY LOCAL CATHOLIC LIBRARY. FOUR BOOKS ABOUT POPE LEO XIII LATER - NOTHING!
HOPEFUL THAT YOU CAN REFER ME TO OBTAINABLE PUBLISHED DOCUMENTS, BOOKS, WHATEVER, ON THE ABOVE. I HAVE FRIENDS THAT ARE LIBRARIANS SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE SCARCITY OF A SOURCE.
YOUR TIME AND ASSISTANCE ARE SINCERELY APPECIATED,

NOTE: to all readers: please do not type your Subject or your question in all CAPS ----------------
Yes, these dreams of Pope Leo XIII are true. They are related in various books about the Pope or about spiritual warfare prayer. I dont know of any specific book at the top of my head, but the information you have related in your question is about all the information that is usually given. There is not much more said about it I dont think. If I come across a authoritative source I'll mention it.
Sorry couldn't do more for you at the moment.
