Identify of Word QUESTION from Bill Kilpatrick October 28, 2000 Dear John-Paul,
The other night I spoke with a teenager who claims to be visited by a spirit that he describes as being similar in appearance to the grim reaper. I do not know this teen personally so I have no idea if his experience is real, an illusion, or just a plain hoax. What was intersting is that he saw a word and he asked me if I knew what it was. He wrote the word down on a piece of paper--the word was dasabeonda. I have checked Greek, Hebrew, and Latin dictionaries for this transliteration but did not found anything. I'm still not convinced the whole thing isn't a hoax, but will give him the benefit of the doubt. Does this word mean anything to you?
Thanks.
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, O.L.S.M. on December 17, 2000 Dear Mr. Kilpatrick:
No, the word doesn't mean anything to me. But it is not uncommon for satanists to develop their own secret languages. If this was a demon he may have been using a word from some secret contrived language. Or the kid may have just made it up.
This could be a dream, it could be a kid looking for attention (MANY do this), it could be psychiatrically sourced, or it could be a real demon manifestation. The child needs to see a counselor regardless of the source of his story.
