Edgar Cayce QUESTION from Ron Cairns August 17, 2000 I have recently been handed a copy of A Search for God by Edgar Cayce. Do you know anything about this supposed 'mystic'?
Thanks.
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, O.L.S.M. on October 18, 2000 Dear Mr. Cairns:
Edgar Cayce was a psychic, occult healer, and prophet. He practiced telepathy, fortune-telling, clairvoyance, and had alleged visions.
Cayce believed in such things as that Jesus was a reincarnation of Adam, Melchizedek, Joshua, Zend (the father of Zoroaster), and many others. He believe in a Father-Mother God, that Jesus and Mary were twin souls, that Mary was conceived of the Holy Spirit, that God does not know the future, and that union with God is doing our own thing (we redeem ourselves).
There is NOTHING about Edgar Cayce that can be reconciled with Christianity.
I would suggest using the book you were given for kindling in the fireplace.
