Dream Catchers QUESTION from Michelle February 1, 2000 Is it alright for Christians to display dream catchers in their homes, cars, etc.?
My understanding is that when you hang a dream catcher in the window of your bedroom, the dream catcher prevents bad dreams from entering your room, it catches the bad dreams and allows only good dreams in. Is this an accurate assessment?
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, O.L.S.M. on February 6, 2000 Dear Mrs. Michelle:
Using such an object for that purpose is using it as a talismon. A talismon is an object believed to have powers for magical protection.
Christians are to have nothing to do with talismons or any other form of occult magical powers.
Christian rely upon God and our faith for protection, not alledged powers of objects apart from God.
