Forgiveness for Abortion QUESTION from Christine January 8, 2000
Is it possible for God to redeem and forgive a woman who has suffered abortion, and how is that redemption attained? ANSWER by Mr. John Miskell on January 12, 2000

Christ gave the power to forgive sins to the Church (John 20:21-23), which is the continuation of His presence throughout time. (Matthew. 28:20). All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us (the Church) the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us (the Church) the message of reconciliation. [2 Corinthians 5:18-19] Go to Confessions and confess all of your sins without holding anything back. Do this in your own parish, in another parish, face to face or in the anonymity of the confessional. You might even drive to another town -- it doesn't matter, just do it. And when the priest absolves you of your sins in Jesus Name, know that your sins ARE forgiven and give thanks to God. In Christ, John Miskell Back to Index Page
