Gospels/Beatitudes QUESTION from Mike Mallinger on November 26, 2002 Last Sunday, our pastor, in his homily, stated that the Epistles were not as important as the Gospels, that the Ten Commandments were outdated, and that all we need to guide us our the Beatitudes. What is your take on such teaching? It seems to me that this kind of focus leaves out much that is necessary to our faith life.

If this pastor said what you say he said, if you did not misinterpret somehow, I would say this pastor needs to be re-assigned to a monastery in the mountains of Turkey until his ego is deflated to sea level and his stops preaching doctrines of demons.
