marriage QUESTION from Minguel November 15, 2000 i am a catholic and my wife was a catholic. (she now goes to the evangelical church) we have our differences at home as to do we conduct the family prayer and where do the children go to for sunday school. we also have our difference in praying to mary (intercession) and idols and crosses. what do you suggest I do.
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, O.L.S.M. on March 2, 2001 Dear Mr. Minguel:
Well, you need to pray and get all your friends to pray for your wife. You are in a very difficult situation. However, as the head of the house, (which evangelicals also believe that the husband is the head of the house), you might insist that the children be raised Catholic.
I would also talk with your parish priest about this. This is a most difficult situation you have.
We will be in prayer for you and your wife and family.
