Wedding during Lent QUESTION from Linda December 2, 1999
My daughter's wedding is planned for March 25th and just recently I came across a note that said that weddings during the penitential seasons was prohibited. I've been searching for the source of that information. When we set the date, my priest who is solid said that we could do the Mass then although they don't like for you to since it is Lent but since Vatican II they have allowed it. Is he misinformed on this and if so, what do I do now that the reception is booked, things ordered etc., etc. Thank you for any direction you could give.
