Response during Communion QUESTION from Jen October 13, 2000 What is the proper response during Communion after the priest says, Body of Christ? Lately I've heard people saying nothing or mumble long responses. I was taught to say Amen. What is the correct response? Thank you for your time.

You were taught right.
The communicants approach, make the proper reverence, and stand in front of the priest. Showing the host he says: The body of Christ. The communicant answers: Amen, and receives the body of Christ from the priest. [General Instruction of the Roman Missal, 244 C] In Christ, John Miskell
