Hail Mary at Mass QUESTION from Matthew February 19, 2000
I know the Documents of Vatican II, say that no one can add, take away or change, anything from the Mass. Is it appropriate, after the prayers of the faithful for the Priest to entrust all of our petitions to the Blessed Mother and pray a Hail Mary? I have NOTHING against this practice, rather the contrary I would love, if it was valid or licit, for more priest to do this. God bless, Matthew ANSWER by Mr. John Miskell on February 21, 2000
Dear Matthew, Sorry, but the practice is illicit for the very reasons that you cite. Remember that all the various abuses that occur in the Mass are done by those who have NOTHING against doing it. The Hail Mary is prayed by many parishes immediately after the Mass. John Miskell Back to Index Page
