Spiritual Warfare Forum: Generational demons and the occult
Generational demons and the occult QUESTION from Diane on April 2, 2002 I'm curious about generational demons. I read a book about the controversial Anglican(?) Bishop John Pike, and near the end of the book the author states that Bishop Pike was inclined to the occult because his family members (such as an aunt, or a great-grandfather, etc.) were into the occult.
The author states that if I were to get into the occult (even to the extent of playing with the Ouija board once) that demons could harrass me and any descendents that I may have. I must admit that these things do interest me, but on the other hand, I am a bit skeptical of these things.
Do these demons attack family bloodlines? The reason that I am asking is that my mother was adopted, and I have no idea what type of family my mom came from.

ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, OLSM on April 20, 2002 Dear Miss Diane:
Yes, it is VERY dangerous to mess around with things like tarot cards, horoscopes, and Ouija boards. Ouija boards are PARTICULARY dangerous. Stay away, far away from all such things.
When we mess in Satan's sandbox, we WILL get his sand in our shoes.
As for generational demonization, yes, not only is that possible, but it is a VERY common way that causes people to be bothered by evil things.
I recommend to ALL Christians to pray the Prayer of Renouncement of Ancestral Sins. We can NEVER know for sure what our ancesters were up to even if we are not adopted.
To be safe it is best to close the doors from any demons that may be attached to our bloodlines, or adopted-lines.
God Bless you.
