Meaning of visitation? QUESTION from marie cordova September 29, 2001 Dear Father
First of all thank you for the spiritual warfare prayers, I know that they work.
Now I have a question about something that happened to me and my spouce. About 4 years ago my husband started acting on the word of God, Like praying in tongs and quoting scripture over our situations primarly finnancial.Please forgive me if I am spelling words wrong, anyway we live in the country and one night it was allready dark. There came a sudden and eurgent knock at the door. Now I dont know if you are going to believe me but God knows I am telling you the truth. When the knock came I was watching Touched by an Angel on television.
I really dident want to be bothered by anyone so I asked my husband to answere to door. When he did I herd a commanding voice say The Lord sent me to give you fifty dollars When I herd him I dident know how to react, but I still couldnt see him behind the door. Then he repeted himself only louder, This person I could tell was a complete stranger and sometimes my mouth gets ahead of me and I said in a disbelieveing way What church are you from? still not being able to see him, as soon as I said that the door opened wide and my eyes met his, It seemed like he looked right thru-me and he said mam does it matter?
At that moment I felt very foolish for saying that and there was a feeling around him that filled the trailer house. An feeling of Awe and shock and a timewarp all rolled up into one. The feeling was so strong that even the color of the room changed. He as wearing a heavenly blue shirt with white pants and white shoes. He was handsome but not in a sexual way almost a glowing about him. When we asked me if it mattered and looking at me like that, my hand just went out towards him and I said in a humbling voice no it does not.
He gave me fifty dollars and really I cant remember if he said anything else for some reason? Oh and he was a tall man too. He left our pourch and walked to our driveway I just stood there like I was in shock and I saw him get into a car in our drive, but it was dark out there and all I could tell was it was like a white car.
One other piece of unexplainable information, we herd no one drive up before he knocked at our door, and we always hear everyone who does, but when he got in the car to leave he started it up and it was so loud you could have herd it for a country mile at least.
Since then we have prospered finnancialy and we will continue to tith. We have our own business now and a new house and before we had nothing. We are asked all the time how did you do it? things sure have changed for you. We always tell them that God prospered us and we tell them what happened.
My question is What do you think the meaning of the 50.00 dollars was I think God was testing us to see how we would spend it. We were flat broke too but the next day was sunday and we gave 40.00 dollars back to the church and spent 10 dollars on a meal afterward. Please believe me I love God and I would not make anything up about him.

What is the meaning? You answered your own question. And God honored your faithfulness to him.
Tithing is a controversial things and Cathoilcs are among the most faithless, or should be say the stingeest Christians on the planet. I personally think that the bingo and carnivals and raffle tickets are a scandal in most instances. They are a direct result of the people refusing to obey God in tithing.
We are all taught that you never test God. But God Himself tells us to test Him in one area:
Malachi 3:8-12 8 Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, 'How are we robbing thee?' In your tithes and offerings. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me; the whole nation of you. 10 Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for you, * so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil; and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the LORD of hosts. 12 Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the LORD of hosts. God actually says, put me to the test.
Yet most people ignore this; most Catholic ROB GOD.
The man who came to your door may have be inspired by God to give you the $50. Or then man may have been an angel. It does not matter. What matters is that you were given a gift and like the story of the Master who let his servants take care of his property, the Master (God) was seeing what you would do with it.
To make the step of faith to give $40 back to God, pleased God emmensely.
As a result God gave back to you ten fold.
