Thank You QUESTION from Nikki August 4, 2001 I have read and understood my messages completely. I will be converting to the catholic church as soon as possible. This has been a great relief to hear true words. There has been many pastors and spirit led women groups who could not answer me and did not know how to led me. But they knew how to laugh, gossip, talk behind my back, and straight out accuse me of challenging God. Never had I have been told to pray off gifts because they may not be from God. Never was I taught how to deal with spirit attacks. I had to deal with this alone. Until I came to this message board. Thank You. Should I continue to pray in tongue? Or should I pray that off too?

I praise God that our Website and this Q & A has been helpful to you. That is what we are here for -- to minister to people for the greater Glory of God.
On the tongues issues, given your background, I would stop doing that for the time being. I would ask God, Lord are these tongues from You. If not take them away from me. Such a prayer should be said about any and all gifts one may have. But with tongues it is even more important because tongues are the EASIEST for Satan to counterfeit.
I use to speak in tongues myself but discovered they were not of God so I renounced them.
If I were you I would pray the prayer above and then hold off on speaking in tongues until things settle down and you can be certain that this is from God.
