Understanding the Role of Angels QUESTION from Kevin July 25, 2000 As a practicing catholic, there is a belief and a fact that God has his Angels, and Satan has his demons.
That being the case, I wish to further my understanding of God's Angels. It is easy to understand that Satans Demons cause harm and mischief among humans, and will tempt them often. That is the downside, or the evil in our religion and our lives.
But what of the Angels?
Is there a such thing as a guardian Angel for each one of us? Are Angels around us all the time? What is their main role?
And most curiously: How does God view the Angels in relation to Human beings?
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, O.L.S.M. on September 17, 2000 Dear Mr. Kevin:
Yes, angels are always all around us, especially our guardian angel, which everybody has one.
There is a spiritual war going on all around us between angels and demons -- fighting over our souls.
Your best bet to learn about all this is to check the RECOMMENDED BOOKS file that is link on the Index page of this forum. The first several books are all about angels.
I expecially recommend the book by Peter Kreeft that you will find on that list.
God Bless.
