The Stigmata QUESTION from Kevin February 25, 2000 How many cases in recorded history have there been of someone recieving the Stigmata? Is it true that St. Thomas Aquinas was one of them? What are the critera or reasons for someone getting it?

I have not made a specific historical study of this subject. I think there is a book that details this information, but I am not sure.
You might want to ask our historian, Suzanne Fortin in the History Forum, if she happens to know.
