Spiritual Warfare QUESTION from Debbie January 31, 2000 Hello, I am a catholic who is in the process of re-membering back into the Church. I am also in the process of having my marriage Blessed by the Church. Altho I pray daily I find things happen that try to discourage me.The closer We get to completion of the goals the more troubles we encounter. My husband is Church of Christ who was previously married. He has agreed to the process of going before the Parish Preist and having the initial interview. Since I've begun my long Journey home it has been diffucult .I do not know why, but I feel this is a direct assault from -----. Because by my again taking part in the sacrement I will be on the road to a right relationship with the Father. I feel that will also bring my family into compliance with Him.(Leading by example)Every time I get any kind of progress in this venture, WHAM! Whether it's relationship or parenting trouble, there it is.Time after time. How do I handle this? I pray, I am considering fasting. I also attend Mass on a regular basis(only missing in times of sickness or impassable roads) and even tho I may not YET receive Communion I go up for the Priest to bless me. That seems to fortify me some. But in my heart I know I really need Communion. I also pray for Spiritual Communion.So any info would be greatly appreciated. Pray for us all. You are doing all the right things. Yes, these seeming attacks are just that, attacks from the enemy. The enemy doesn’t want to see you reconciled with the Church and thus will do anything to discourage you.
Don’t let the enemy get his way. Resist the devil and he will flee.
In the long run you will find that the road you are taking back to the Church was helped by these attacks. That is why God allows them. It helps to fortify you, that is, it helps you to know the God is God. It brings you to Him.
I would also suggest that you look at the collection of Spiritual warfare prayers that we have online. Choose whatever fits your situation and pray that along with all else you are doing such as Mass, etc. Don’t forget adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, and also the Rosary.

Be not afraid!!! These attacks mean that you are on the right road just where you ought to be.
