Is it a must to have a child QUESTION from Susan September 17, 2001 Dear Brother,
I have read somewhere that God created man and woman to give forth generatiions. My question is this.
Is it a sin if a husband and wife decide not to have any children?
Would be grateful if you could answer this?

Yes, it is a sin. In fact a marriage is not valid if the couple has no intention of having children. The purpose of marriage includes having children. Without that intent of a couple who are capable of having children there is no marriage.
