Divine Office Forum: Dates for Psalter and Four-Week Text pamphlet
Dates for Psalter and Four-Week Text pamphlet QUESTION from George Hoxie, Sr. April 19, 2001 I have been using the Daughters of St. Paul Liturgy of the Hours (1 Vol) version of Prayer since seminary in 1992. I need to find instructions so that I know I am doing the proper prayers (days and feasts) and that I am getting the psalter in the right order. My Pamphlet ran out in 1997 amd I have just been guessing up to now.
I am told that the only way I can update the pamphlet that comes with the book is to by a new one.
Can you help with documentation or a webpage for this instruction?
PAX
Rev. George
ANSWER by John-Paul Ignatius, OLSM on May 28, 2001 Dear Deacon Hoxie:
The one I have is also expired. I am looking into getting a new one. As soon as I do, I will post it on the Website.
For others reading this, what I will post as soon as I get my hands on it, is the little pamphlet that is inserted in the Daughters of St. Paul one-volume version of the Divine Office. This pamphlet helps to keep track of where you are in the cycle.
In the meantime, we are in the 7th Week of Easter in the Proper of Seasons and in Week III in the Psalter.
So, for today, Monday, May 28, 2001 you will begin in the Psalter on page 803 in the Daughters of St. Paul edition. The reading, intercessions, and prayer begin on page 443 for Monday 7th Week of Easter.
Now with this reference you should be able to figure out succeeding days.
Those using the Catholic Book Publishing one-volume version or the full 4 volume edition can buy an Ordo for either of those editions from Catholic Book Publishing Co.
