Extraordinary Ministers vs. Eucharistic Ministers QUESTION from Mickey Staudt July 12,1999
Please tell me the difference between a Eucharistic Minister and an Extraodinary Minister. I would also like to know if an Extraordinary Minister is permitted to remove the consecrated Host from the tabernacle during Mass? We have a small parish (300) people, and the tabernacle in only a few ft. from the alter. Thank you very sincerely, Mickey ANSWER by Mr. John Miskell on July 12, 1999
Dear Mickey, The proper title for those who are commonly referred to as Eucharistic Ministers is Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. In carrying out their duties, there are times when an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist will remove the Eucharist from the Tabernacle. In Christ, John Miskell Back to Index Page
