Liturgy & Liturgical Law Forum: Liturgical planning
Liturgical planning QUESTION from Mark S on August 25, 2002 Is it valid for anyone in the parish to do the planning of the liturgy for an upcoming Mass? Adults or children?
Thanks
ANSWER by Mr. Jacob Slavek on August 31, 2002 Dear Mark,
Sure, anyone can do the planning for a liturgical service, but normally the priest is the beset choice since the pastor has the DUTY to ensure that all Sacred Liturgy in his parish is licit. The priest is the best choice since he has received education in Liturgy while in the seminary. Of course some priests choose not to perform this duty, which of course is very wrong.
But anyone can do the actual planning, as long as the pastor oversees the work.
Mr. Slavek
