Kneeling after the Agnus Dei (Again) FOLLOW-UP from John Miskell February 12, 2000
Dear Readers, There was a question about the correct posture to assume after the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God). I was surprised to learn that there is a variety of practice throughout the U.S. and Canada. Some parishes stand but it appears that most kneel. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal views this time as a period of personal preparation of the priest, and bids the faithful to the same action. The General Instruction does not delimit this time-period, nor specify what particular posture is appropriate or not.
