Receiving Jesus Well September 17th, 2009 Listen Now The Pharisees invite Jesus to dinner but do not treat him well. The normal hospitality that was Jewish custom was not offered to Jesus. A women, a public sinner, barged into the dinner and washed the feet of Jesus with her tears. From this story that Christ calls us to hospitality not hypocrisy. But, the greater teaching is that this public, perhaps a sex offender as an adulteress or prostitute repented and Christ forgave her. The Sin Against the Holy Spirit October 17th, 2009 Listen Now
All sin can be forgiven. God’s mercy is limitless. But, God will not force anyone into His heaven. If we choose to reject God’s grace God allows us to make that choice. If our heart is hardened to God’s grace then we risk committing the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. If we die telling God we do not want his grace then we die without salvific grace and will spend eternity separated from God by our own choice. No sin is unforgivable except the sin of telling God you don’t want His forgiveness. That is the unforgivable sin only because we refuse God’s offer of salvation.
