St. Gabriel, The Archangel Saint Gabriel the Archangel, I venerate you as the Angel of the Incarnation, because God has specially appointed you to bear the messages concerning the God-Man to Daniel, Zechariah, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Give me a very tender and devoted love for the Incarnate Word and his blessed Mother, more like your own. I venerate you also as the strength from God because you are the giver of God's strength, consoler and comforter chosen to strengthen God's faithful and to teach them important truths. I ask for the grace of a special power of the will to strive for holiness of life. Steady my resolutions, renew my courage, comfort and console me in the problems, trials, and sufferings of daily living, as you consoled our Savior in His agony and Mary in her sorrows and Joseph in his trials. I put my confidence in you. Saint Gabriel, I ask you specially for this favor: (Mention your request.) Through your earnest love for the Son of God-Made-Man and for His blessed Mother, I beg of you, intercede for me that my request may be granted, if it be God's holy Will. V. A Prayer for Spiritual Strength I greet you, holy Angel Saint Gabriel, who comforted Jesus in His agony, and with you I praise the most Holy Trinity for having chosen you from among all the holy Angels to comfort and strengthen Him Who is the comfort and strength of all that are in affliction. By the honor you enjoyed and by the obedience, humility, and love with which you assisted the sacred Humanity of Jesus, my Savior, when He was fainting with sorrow at seeing the sins of the world and especially my sins, I beg of you to obtain for me the perfect sorrow for my sins. Strengthen me in the afflictions that now weigh upon my soul, and in all other trials, to which I shall be exposed in time to come and, in particular, in my final agony.
