President George W. Bush
President George W. Bush is inducted into our Hall of Shame because he continues to maintain polices that violate human rights and the human dignity of the prisoners accused of terrorism. He refuses to apply the Geneva Convention standards and instead merely re-defines the standards or speaks generically about American practices. Without giving details, President Bush merely declares that American practices towards prisoners meets the standards of the Geneva Conventions. While he has condemned the forcing prisoners to perform sexual practices or pose naked for pictures, he does not condemn the practice of chaining a prisoner to the floor naked. The ends do not justify the means in a civilized society. The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons. –Fyodor Dostoevsky A Civilization can be judged by how it treats its prisoners. –Winston Churchill
