Link TV
Link TV, a television channel broadcasting to more than 31 million homes via satellite, aired on February 3, 2009 a three and a half minute video that mocks Catholicism. The video, Divine Food, depicts a Catholic priest teetering on the edge of madness who desecrates the Holy Eucharist, talks to statues, and refuses to say Mass. Independent Television Service (ITVS), which receives federal funding through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, co-produced the video, which first aired last summer. Link TV’s willingness to air the offensive production correlates with the openly anti-Catholic agenda of its financial donors and supporters, including the Ford Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Wallace Global Fund, and George Soros’ Open Society Institute. For mocking the Catholic Church by airing this vile video, and for catering to the agenda of its notably anti-Catholic financial donors, Link TV earns a spot in our Hall of Shame.
