Government of Ireland
July 20th, 2011
The Government of Ireland is inducted into our Hall of Shame for their proposal to interfere in the internal affairs of the Catholic Church threatening priests with five years in prison if they do not reveal information received in the Confessional.

Irish priests must break seal of confession or face prison: new legislation introduced
by Hilary White, Rome Correspondent
DUBLIN, July 19, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A group of Irish priests has announced that the country’s Catholic clergy will refuse to comply with any law requiring them to break the seal of the confession. The statement of defiance comes in response to proposed legislation announced by the government late last week, under which priests could face up to five years in prison for failure to disclose sexual crimes against minors admitted by penitents.
The Irish government said that under the legislation confessions would not be exempt from rules on mandatory reporting of child abuse, claiming that the move is a response to Ireland’s clerical abuse crisis. Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny said that the Catholic Church’s canon law would not be allowed to supersede state law.
However, Fr. PJ Madden, a spokesman for the Association of Catholic Priests, told the UK’s Catholic Herald that priests will urge a penitent who confesses to a crime to go to police, but said that the sacramental seal of confession is above and beyond all else.
If I’m breaking the law then somebody has to find a way to address that for me. But in my own right as a priest what I understand is the seal of confession is above and beyond all else, he said.
David Quinn, a popular Irish columnist and commentator on religion and director of the think-tank the Iona Institute, wrote that such a law would be unprecedented. It would, make us the one and only country in the Western world to have such a law, he said.
Quinn also pointed to a practical consequence of mandating that priests break the seal of confession: No child abuser will go to a priest in confession knowing the priest is required to inform the police. But cutting off the avenue of confession to a child abuser makes it less likely that he will talk to someone who can persuade him to take the next step.
But on Friday, Irish Children’s Minister Frances Fitzgerald said the issue was non-negotiable and that the sacrament of confession could not be used as a defense to claim exemption from the new rules.
If there is a law in the land, it has to be followed by everybody. There are no exceptions, there are no exemptions, she said. I’m not concerned, neither is the Government, about the internal laws or rules governing any body.
She added, The point is, if there is a law in the land, it has to be followed by everybody. There are no exceptions, there are no exemptions.
As of this writing, there has been no response from the Irish Catholic bishops; however, an inside source told LSN that the Vatican is gravely concerned with the proposal. In addition to concerns over the damage to the practice of the faith in Ireland, questions are being raised in Rome about enforcement and possible entrapment of priests.
The only way to enforce this law would be to have people go into confessionals carrying a voice recorder and make false confessions of criminal abuse of minors, said the source.
The source, an expert in canon law, said that even if Ireland’s anti-clericalist government does not resort to such measures, the country’s tabloid press, looking for sensational news stories, certainly will. Under the Church’s canon law, any priest who breaks the seal of confession is subject to automatic excommunication, the Church’s heaviest penalty.
In civil law, the source said, priests are at a great disadvantage when accused of crimes that involve the confessional. Not only can a priest not disclose criminal acts, in most circumstances he is bound not to mention to anyone, including the penitent, any part of anything he has heard in confession. The prohibition is so all-encompassing that a priest may not even reveal whether has heard a particular person’s confession.
This, the source said, leaves the priest in a nearly impossible position when called as a witness in courts. A priest in such a situation can say only, ‘I can’t say.’
Legislation to force priests to break the seal would be unenforceable, impractical, and a distraction from the main issue, said the chief executive of the Catholic Church’s child protection watchdog, the National Board for Safeguarding Children, Ian Elliott.
Since the rise of Christian civilization after the fall of the Roman Empire, western jurisprudence has recognized the futility of demanding that priests break the seal. Currently, in the U.S. the seal of confession is specifically protected under two constitutional amendments. In Ireland, the seal has been protected by centuries-old legal custom and precedent.
The Irish Times quoted Dr. Gerard Whyte, associate professor of law at Trinity College Dublin, who said that the seal enjoys a measure of protection under civil law.
It is well settled in Irish common law that a member of the clergy of any denomination may not be compelled in law to disclose the content of any conversation between him/her and a parishioner unless the parishioner agrees to such disclosure, he said.
Popular UK priest-blogger, Fr. Ray Blake, wrote that such a law would effectively make it impossible for Catholics in Ireland to practice their faith.
Ireland will be the only non-totalitarian state to attack the Church in such a way, Fr. Blake wrote. Now we can look forward to priest martyrs to the confessional.
The problem is of course that only the truly repentant are likely to confess directly to such a sin, the unrepentant stay away from the confessional.
Fr. Blake also brought up the issue of enforcement, saying, Do they really expect the priest sitting in a dark Dublin confessional listening to an anonymous voice, who hears such a confession, to run round to the penitents side of the confessional and photograph the anonymous penitent on their iPhone and text the photograph to the authorities?
He added, How far is a priest supposed to enquire into people’s sexual proclivities? Will the State take control and issue guidelines?
The Code of Canon Law, paragraphs 983 and 983 say, The sacramental seal is inviolable. Accordingly, it is absolutely wrong for a confessor in any way to betray the penitent, for any reason whatsoever, whether by word or in any other fashion.
The confessor is wholly forbidden to use knowledge acquired in confession to the detriment of the penitent, even when all danger of disclosure is excluded.
A person who is in authority may not in any way, for the purpose of external governance, use knowledge about sins which has at any time come to him from the hearing of confession.

Houston National Cemetary Director
July 9th, 2011
The director, we cannot find her name, of the Houston National Cemetery, a Veterans Administration cemetery, is inducted into our Hall of Shame because she has banned the name of God and Jesus on cemetery grounds. The directors requires all prayer to be submitted to her for approval. In addition, soon after this director took over she closed the cemetery chapel and turned it into a meeting hall and storage facility.
It seems obvious that this person is either emotionally ill or a one serious anti-religion bigot. Either way, we are calling for her immediate firing.
Here is the news story from June 28, 2011:

Girls Scouts
June 2nd, 2011
[Note: this is an update from the original June 2, 2010 posting]
We induct into our Hall of Shame the Girl Scouts for their position on God, Homosexuality, abortion, contraceptives.
Denver’s Auxiliary Bishop, James D. Conley has issued a caution concerning the Girl Scouts.
Girl Scouts in 1999 made belief in God optional and have a non-discrimination policy for lesbian Scout leaders and girls. Intimate sexual topics such as abortion, contraceptives, population control, and homosexuality are not unusual topics addressed by the Girl Scouts organization.
Kathryn Jean Lopez, an associate editor of the National Review, in her article in the October 23, 2000 issue of the National review, The Cookie Crumbles, reports:
It’s been a long slide for the Girl Scouts. First, as James Davison Hunter points out in his new book The Death of Character, they dropped loyalty from their oath in 1972, in favor of I will do my best to be honest and fair. In 1975, a Catholic archdiocese cut off all support of the Girl Scouts because of their sex-ed program. In 1993, the Girl Scouts made God optional in the Girl Scout Promise: On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, to help people at all times and to live by the Girl Scout Law. (The Boy Scouts, meanwhile, have been sued over keeping God obligatory in their oath.)
Today, the Girl Scouts is arguably one of the most politically correct organizations in the country
The Girl Scouts does not have a discrimination policy, as they like to put it — Girl Scouts doors are open to all, gay Scout leaders and girls.
Girl Scout policy forbids sex on Girl Scouts time. But the book On My Honor: Lesbians Reflect on Their Scouting Experience, published in 1997, is filled with coming-of-age stories sparked by gay encounters in the Girl Scouts. Along with an essay entitled All I Really Need to Know About Being a Lesbian I Learned at Girl Scout Camp, and various stories of butch counselors who wore men’s clothes and had slicked back short hair, is testimony to the prevalence of lesbians in Girl Scouting. One writer remembers: By the time I was a junior counselor, Mic was assistant camp director and her gruff, deep-voiced directives no longer scared me. I didn’t know that most of the counselors were lesbians. Others remember how sleepovers and camping trips were opportunities for same-sex sexual experimentation. Girl Scout staffers writing in the book claim that roughly one in three of the Girl Scouts’ paid professional staff is lesbian.
Another article on girl scouts reveals even more:
In her 2009 article, Girl Scouts exposed: Lessons in Lesbianism, Chelsea Schilling describes:
When many parents think of Girl Scouts, they imagine young girls in uniform selling Thin Mints and Tagalong cookies – not learning about stone labyrinths, world peace, global warming, yoga, avatars, smudging incense, Zen gardens and feminist, communist and lesbian role models.
But that’s exactly what many of 2.7 million Girl Scouts will learn about with a new curriculum called Journeys released last year.

PepsiCo (Pepsi), Kraft Foods, and Nestlé
May 27th, 2011
PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, and Nestlé are inducted into our Hall of Shame because they are using aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavor enhancers. This is among the most disgusting and evil practices we know — to use aborted babies to help make our food taste better.
We join in the boycott of these companies and their products.
Here is the story:
LARGO, Florida, May 26, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Scores of prolife groups are calling for a public boycott of food giant, PepsiCo, due to its partnership with Senomyx, a biotech company that uses aborted fetal cells in the research and development of artificial flavor enhancers.
LifeSiteNews previously reported on Senomyx’s partnership with major food corporations, most notably PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, and Nestlé.
Pro-life watchdog group, Children of God for Life (CGL), is now joined by major pro-life organizations calling upon the public to target PepsiCo in a boycott.
Pepsi is funding the research and development, and paying royalties to Senomyx, which uses HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney cells) to produce flavor enhancers for Pepsi beverages.
Using isolated human taste receptors we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor, says the Senomyx website.
What they do not tell the public is that they are using HEK 293 – human embryonic kidney cells taken from an electively aborted baby to produce those receptors, stated Debi Vinnedge, President for CGL, the watch dog group that has been monitoring the use of aborted fetal material in medical products and cosmetics for years.
The aborted fetal cells are not in the product itself. However, there are many options PepsiCo could be using instead of aborted fetal cells, noted Vinnedge.
The revelation about Senomyx’s research techniques motivated Campbell Soup to sever all relations with Senomyx.
However, PepsiCo continues their business relationship despite the abortion connection. They drew pubic ire earlier this year when they responded, saying, our collaboration with Senomyx is strictly limited to creating lower-calorie, great-tasting beverages for consumers.
When pressed further, PepsiCo sent out a form letter response saying they had been accused of conducting aborted fetal tissue research.
Bradley Mattes, executive director of Life Issues Institute, said, While aborted fetal cells aren’t actually in the product itself, the close relationship is enough to repulse most consumers. To our knowledge, this is the first time a food product has been publicly associated with abortion.
The pro-life groups noted that additional companies collaborating with Senomyx will be targeted for boycott next.
The pro-life organizations are asking the public to boycott all Pepsi drink products and encourage consumers to contact Pepsi management requesting that they sever all ties with Senomyx.

Michelle Obama
May 12th, 2011
We induct the First Lady, Michelle Obama, in the Hall of Shame for insulting authentic poets everywhere, and especially offending police officers, by inviting the Rapper Common to the White House Poetry Reading.
The White House responded to criticisms of inviting Common, saying it was unfair to characterize Common’s body of work as violent.
In addition to all this, Common does not know how to write poetry.
Rapper Common
May 12th, 2011
We induct the into the Hall of Shame because his rap supports violence, specifically the killing of police officers.
Rap, which is not music, is in our Hall of Shame in general. It is a style of rhythmic talking that encourages violence, drugs, and sex, including sexual violence. It is among to most offensive and disrespectful to women.
Rap, as a whole, and as a genre of music has no value.
Common claims to be Christian, but faith is proven by its fruits. Here is an excerpt from his Go:

Virginia Ironside, UK Advice Columnist
March 11th, 2011
UK Advice Columnist Virginia Ironside is inducted into the Hall of Shame for suggesting that severely suffering babies should be smothered to death with a pillow. The video below says it all:

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
July 14th, 2010
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg is inducted into our Hall of Shame for her support of eugenics and abortion.
Recently Ginsburg stated, Over a generation of young women have grown up, understanding they can control their own reproductive capacity, and in fact their life’s destiny. We will never go back to the way it once was… Whatever the court may do, it’s only the poor women who will suffer. When people realize that, maybe they will have a different attitude."
Her real reason for believing in the permanence of abortion was revealed by her one year ago when she admitted her real agenda in an interview with Emily Bazelon of the New York Times, Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.
This was the same motivation of Margaret Sanger, the Patron Demon of Planned Parenthood. Sanger wanted to reduce the population of undesirables, especially blacks.
Abortion is not about women’s rights. It is about money, primarily, and secondarily about eugenics. It is evil on its face not only because it is murdering an innocent child, but because this is a murder-for-hire and it is an ideology of pseudo-genocide.
Justice Ginsburg and other liberal Justices who support abortion are perverts, with Ginsburg the current matriarch of this perversion of murder of babies.

Prof fired for Explaining Church Teaching
July 13th, 2010
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is inducted into our Hall of Shame not only for violating the venerated academic freedom that every professor and student is suppose to enjoy, but for violating the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and offending God and Catholic Church.
The University fired Professor Kenneth Howell, a Catholic, for teaching Catholic teaching in a university course on Catholic teaching on Natural Law and Homosexuality.
A university cannot censor professors’ speech – including classroom speech related to the topic of the class – merely because certain ideas ‘offend’ an anonymous student, said Howell’s attorney, ADF Senior Counsel David French. To fire a professor for teaching the actual subject matter of his course is outrageous. It’s ridiculous that a school would fire a professor without even giving him a chance to defend himself when he simply taught Catholic beliefs in a class about Catholic beliefs.
There is ZERO question that if Professor Howell taught against Catholic teaching and that homosexuality was as good as rain, he would not have been fired if Catholic student groups protested. This hypocrisy is so far off the charts as to need a high-powered telescope to see it.
This is an outright attack upon religious freedom in this country — similar to what has been happening in other alleged freedom countries such as Canada and England.
Here is the story:
U. of Illinois Fires Catholic Prof for Explaining Church Teaching on Homosexuality
By Kathleen Gilbert
URBANA, Illinois, July 12, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Catholic professor has been fired from the University of Illinois for sending an email to students in a course on Catholic doctrine, explaining how homosexual activity is contrary to the natural moral law.
Kenneth Howell of Champaign, IL, also lost his job with the diocese of Peoria at the Newman center on campus, where he had been employed for 12 years, after university officials confronted Howell about the email.
Howell had taught Introduction to Catholicism and Modern Catholic Thought at the university’s Department of Religion since 2001.
In an account posted by CatholicVoteAction.org, Howell says that although students in the course have often disagreed with Catholic teaching in the past, in Spring 2010 he noticed the most vociferous reaction that I have ever had regarding the Catholic teaching against homosexuality as morally wrong.
It seemed out of proportion to all that I had known thus far, he wrote. This, he said, spurred him to send an email explaining how this issue might be decided within competing moral systems, contrasting utilitarianism and natural moral law.
If we take utilitarianism to be a kind of cost-benefit analysis, I tried to show them that under utilitarianism, homosexual acts would not be considered immoral whereas under natural moral law they would, he wrote. This is because natural moral law, unlike utilitarianism, judges morality on the basis of the acts themselves.
In the email, as quoted by the Associated Press, Howell had written: Natural Moral Law says that Morality must be a response to REALITY. In other words, sexual acts are only appropriate for people who are complementary, not the same.
After the end of the semester, Howell says he was summoned to the office of Robert McKim, chairman of the Department of Religion, where he was told his email had been forwarded to the Office of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Concerns, and that he would no longer be able to teach at the university. Despite discussion of the email’s contents, said Howell, McKim was quite insistent that my days of teaching in the department were over.
Howell offered not to address the subject of homosexuality in class, and averred that to dismiss me for teaching the Catholic position in a class on Catholicism was a violation of academic freedom and my first amendment rights of free speech. This made no difference.
Because the diocese of Peoria reportedly only permits university professors to teach at the campus Newman center, Howell lost his position there as well. Howell is now pursuing legal action with an Alliance Defense Fund attorney.
Initial attempts to contact the Diocese of Peoria and the University of Illinois have been unsuccessful as of press time. Dr. Howell declined to comment before speaking with his lawyer.
The case, while extraordinary in the United States, has been foreshadowed by similar discrimination in Canada and elsewhere. Dr. Chris Kempling, a teacher in British Columbia, was cited for professional misconduct and his license suspended after writing letters to a local newspaper explaining Christian belief on homosexuality. Kempling fought the charges all the way to the Canadian Supreme Court, where his appeal was denied – leaving him with hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees.
ADF attorneys see Howell’s case as part of an ominous trend on college campuses.
