Hy-Vee, Inc Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Hy-Vee, Inc. is inducted into the Hall of Shame for its new policy, effective May 2019, of charging price-gouging fees to have groceries delivered to a person’s home. Hy-Vee is a chain of more than 245 supermarkets located throughout the Midwestern United States in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Hy-Vee was founded in 1930 by Charles Hyde and David Vredenburg in Beaconsfield, Iowa, in a small brick building known as the Beaconsfield Supply Store, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a grocery store with a reputation of listening to customer concerns until now… The previous delivery policy was to charge a $4.95 fee if the grocery order was less than $100. If the order was $100 or more there was no fee. This is a reasonable plan. The new policy is to charge $9.95 per order unless one purchases an annual subscription costing $99 (in which there is no per order charge). It is obvious that the price-gouging per order fee is meant to inspire folks to get the annual subscription. We find such a tactic to be unethical. While there may be regular people using this service, the service is critical for the disabled, informed, and elderly (often who are poor) who may not be able to travel to the store itself. The new policy pays no mind, no sensitivity, no caring on how this constituency may be gravely effected. The poor may not be able to make a lump sum of $100. Thus, they may be forced to pay the $10 per order fee. For example, if one were to buy groceries three times per month, the fee will be $29.85 for the month (a whopping $358.20 per year). No wonder than people are effectively force to pay the annual fee of $99.00, but the poor may have no choice as they may not be able to come up with a lump sum of $99 (and may not be able to save up for it because to the per order charge). As a result, the poor may have to go without some food they need. Nearly $30 per month less food is a lot of food. We contacted Hy-Vee about this twice. The response to the first contact was to merely repeat the new policy. There was no response to the second contact. By the company’s silence we can only deduce that Hy-Vee does not care how this new policy may adversely effect its poor customers. We found this not only to be ethical bur despicably immoral. We encourage letting Hy-Vee know your opinion (even if you are not a Hy-Vee Customer) Corporate Office Hy-Vee, Inc. 5820 Westown Parkway West Des Moines, Iowa 50266-8223 (515) 267-2800 Read the rest of this entry » Tags: Posted in Businesses and Organizations | No Comments »
K-mart & Sears Holding Company Thursday, July 1th, 2010 K-mart & Sears Holding Company, which owns K-Mart, are inducted into the Hall of Shame for their decision to produce and broadcast vulgarity in their Christmas ad. This vulgarity is completely inappropriate and unnecessary. We all know how perverted, uncreative, and seventh-grade boys locker room the advertising agencies of Madison Avenue can be, but no matter what Madison Avenue proposes the executives of K-mart had to approve it. Such vulgarity, especially when exposing our children. to it is irresponsible. See the ad below:

Lilian Jarales | Ruah Energy and Intuitive Knowledge Institute Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Lilian Jarales, RMT, TCMP, CAA, ADS is inducted into our Hall of Shame, because she claims to be Catholic yet practices various New Age alternative medicines that are hostile to the Church. The energy therapies she practises are based on non-existent energy flows through meridians that allegedly course through the body similar to the lymphatic system. Jarales says of herself: … that she is a practitioner of natural therapies and oriental – energy medicine. She practices acupuncture, herbal and food therapy. She also does and teaches reiki healing and spiritual counseling. Her discipline on Child Psychology and experience on social development makes up her whole work on healing. In the Philippines, she moderates the REIKI (Ruah Energy and Intuitive Knowledge Institute),a non-profit organization that runs a healing center and holds healing and inner studies. Being a medical intuitive and earth intuitive who performs rituals, ceremonies and healing of land and space, her work is her life mission, integrating and introducing the unity of the body, mind and spirit to bring wellness to all and to humanity. Anyone claiming to do energy therapy needs to be avoided. This system of thought is not Christian and not scientific. Even after we carefully tried to inform this woman of Church teaching, the depth of her delusion and arrogance shines forth in her response, I still stand for who I am and with my way of serving God. A very familiar sentiment reminiscent of Lucifer’s arrogance, I will not serve. This represents a central core to all liberals they always think their opinions outrank that of the Holy See. When properly admonished for their errors, Liberals always cry like babies that we are mean or not nice, that we are merely offering one opinion among many, and that we are judging. None of this is true, but all of this fits the behavior of liberal who wish to do what they wish to do upon their own authority without regard to anything the Church may say. This is a delusion and a well known tactic the devil uses. See Three Secret Strategies of Satan. We are also reminded of several pertinent quotes to which Miss Jarales and her ilk should take heed: Those who tell the Truth love you. Those who tell you what you want to hear love themselves.Mother Angelica The more we see failure in obedience, the stronger should be our suspicion of temptation. St. Teresa of evila Lord, those are your best servants who wish to shape their life on Your answers rather than to shape your answers on their wishes. Facebook Social Network Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Facebook Social Network is inducted into our Hall of Shame for what is, in our view, disreputable and dishonorable business practices. In addition to the founder of Facebook having a mind of a 14 year old and does not care about the privacy of his customers, Facebook often kicks people off the their service without telling the person why. When asked, they come up with the excuse, Unfortunately, for safety and security reasons, we cannot provide additional information as to why your account was disabled. This decision is final. This is utter nonsense. Or, as we say in Iowa, this is a load of bull s—. The reason a person was kicked off can be revealed without revealing other people who may have filed complaints. This dodge to tell the reason is nothing but a cowardly obfuscation that, according to the business standards we promote, is dishonest and a mark of an utter lack of integrity. To kick someone off the service is one thing, but to keep secret the reason shows not only a lack of integrity on the part of Facebook, but begs the question of whether or not the booting was for legitimate reasons. No business or organization who acts in this way can be considered an ethical one in our view. Facebook is also known for removing accounts of Christians, ProLife accounts, and simliar discrimination against people of good will and good morals. Under no circumstances can Facebook be recommended to anyone with integrity and moral values. As a result of Facebook’s arrogant and bigoted treatment of people with virtue, other similar sites are beginning to be formed, such as ProLifeBook, Faithbook, and * Christian Forums (which has been around for a long time and has a large membership. It is a Bulletin Board style, which is actually better than the Facebook-style interface). In addition there is also Linkedin, which is a Facebook-style social networking group for professionals of all stripes. * ProLifeBook and Faithbook are no longer in operation Read the rest of this entry » Tags: Posted in Businesses and Organizations | No Comments »
Target Corporation Thursday, July 1th, 2010 The retailer Target Corporation is inducted into the Hall of Shame for its unabashed support of the Homosexual Agenda, including homosexual marriage. Target is also selling National Pride Month T-shirts and donating the proceeds to the Family Equality Council (an anti-traditional marriage group).
Target blocking e-mails from AFAurging them to stop supporting gay marriage'
By Katie Craine June 6, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Target is blocking e-mails from people opposed to its new campaign to support the homosexual agenda, according to the American Family Association (AFA). Target launched a campaign at the end of May to raise money for Family Equality Council (FEC), a group that is opposing legislation that would protect the traditional definition of marriage. The massive retailer is selling t-shirts through June, which is called National Pride Month, with gay pride flags and slogans on them. The shirts were designed by musician Gwen Stefani. Target says it will donate 100% of the proceeds from this campaign to Family Equality Council, up to $120,000. In response, AFA asked its supporters to send emails to the company's chairman. AFA provided a draft e-mail urging the company to stop supporting homosexuality that supporters can send from their website. However, an update on the AFA's website says that Target is blocking emails that supporters are sending from the site. Supporters are now being asked to send e-mails from their personal address or to call the company with the phone number provided. I hope you will not let Target silence your voice. I encourage you to call their corporate office and share your personal thoughts, AFA said on its website, and encouraged its supporters to call the corporate office. Stanford Who’s Who, Inc. Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Stanford Who’s Who, Inc., also known as Stanford Who’s Who of {insert state}, is inducted into our Hall of Shame for what we consider unethical business practices. Stanford Who’s Who is among the growing number of vanity Who’s Who companies who exploit the vanity of people to be included in their Who’s Who volumes for a hefty price. When one applies for inclusion to their volume, a sales representative calls the perspective member. In this conversation the salesman asks various questions about the re©sume© of the prospective member. After gathering information the salesman then informs the unsuspecting prospective member that to have the premier listing it will cost money. One salesman said the service costs $800. The impression is made that one may still have a listing for free, but when informing the salesmen that one is not interested in buying any services, the salesmen hangs up and there is no further contact. Update: We performed another test by signing up for a listing with their Who’s Who. When the salesman called us, we went through all the options. When we asked if a free listing is possible, we were told yes and that we would receive information about our free listing in six weeks. Six months later we have still heard nothing from them. In the first two tests we performed the phone has slammed down in our ear when we mentioned any interest in free listings. While we cannot prove it about this particular company, we have seen other businesses deliberately use name of well-known institutions to make themselves look legit. Stanford University, an ivy league school, is used by a lot by disreputable people for some reason, perhaps because the name Stanford can be claimed as a person’s name more easily that the names of other ivy league universities. We have seen the Stanford name mis-used before like this in many other cases. Update: It is also interesting to note, that Stanford Who’s Who contacted us just days after this listing was originally published. These people appear to be on the lookout for people complaining about them on the Internet. How else could they have know about this listing so quickly? Their communication claimed they have more than 150,000 free member. Well we are still waiting after more than six month for our free membership that was promised in six weeks, and that was after having the phone slammed in our ear in two other tests we made to try to get a listing. The communication threatened law suits for libel, of course. A defense against libel is the truth. We have told the truth, it is a truth that Stanford just doesn’t want revealed and thinks vain threats of legal action will intimidate us. Are me intimidated? No, are amazed. We will be intimated by the likes of these people when purple pigs fly. Buyer Beware! The Better Business Bureau ranks this company an F. The company has substantial complaints against it for advertising and sales issues, billing and collection problems, and problems with their product. A legitimate publisher of an Who’s Who evaluates applicants for the credentials necessary to be included in their volumeswith no guarantee of inclusion. If a person is included, it is at no change, and a proof is sent to the person before the listing is published. Company’s may offer other services for a fee, such as a copy of the book sold at ta inductee’s discount, certificates and plaques to commemorate inclusion in their Who’s Who, and other such paraphernalia, but these are purely optional with a legitimate Who’s Who company. Wells Fargo and TD Banks Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Wells Fargo and TD banks of Tampa Bay, Florida are inducted into our Hall of Shame for refusing to participate in the Toys for Tots program for no legitimate reason. Previous years posed no problem for these banks. From the Toys for Tots website: The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted . . . The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens . . . to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable resources our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future . . . The boxes were delivered per usual. We just based it off last year per their need. As soon as the boxes were delivered, we were told unfortunately they needed to be removed or weren't even placed in the lobby to begin with, said Terese Kerrigan of Toys for Tots West Pasco to Fox Tamp Bay. I'm amazed at their insensitivity, said said West Pasco Toys for Tots coordinator John Durkin, a Marine Corps colonel in a recent Tampa Bay Online article. Wells Fargo spokeswoman Kathy Harrison told Fox that the bank has a policy prohibiting such activity in its lobbies. We do have a nonsolicitation policy that's been in effect for a couple years, she said. Wells Fargo also says that it is helping out communities by giving more than $11 million to donations which, many would argue, is really nothing compared to the $25 billion communities across the nation gave them in TARP funds. They claim that rejecting the boxes was a choice made out of respect to their customers. Watch the latest video at video.foxnews.com

American Psychological Association Thursday, July 1th, 2010 The American Psychological Association is inducted into our Hall of Shame because of their unanimous vote to support same-sex marriage. In 1973 homosexuality was removed as a mental illness from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (the bible of psychiatric disorder). God says, however, that homosexual sex is not only a violation of natural law and a grave sin, but it is also an abomination. Few sins are called an abomination. Same sex marriage is every worse for it is an attempt to regularize perversion and propose the fantasy that homosexual love is genuine. Homosexuals cannot romantically love each other. Love rejoices in righteousness (what is right) [1 Cor 13:6] according to God. That which does not rejoice in righteous cannot be love. Homosexual unions are not righteous. For the psychological community to support homosexuality, and especially same-sex marriage, shows that the psychological profession is perverted, morally bankrupt, and cannot be trusted to support genuine human dignity. Story follows… American Psychological Association supports same-sex marriage' 157-0 by Kathleen Gilbert WASHINGTON, D.C., Augus
