Knight Banneret Lieutenant The Knight Banneret Lieutenant, equivalent in the Marine Corp to a 2nd Lieutenant, is the lowest ranking Junior Officer (Warrior Knight), and the entry-level rank for those graduated from the Knight Banneret Candidate School or the Spirtiual Warfare Academy. The Knight Banneret Lieutenant is often a staff officer or higher ranking officers, or as aides to command and flag officers. The Knight Banneret Lieutenant may command Group, be an instructor in Knight Banneret Candidate School, Spiritual Warfare Academy, or Knight Bachelor Academy, or be assigned to other operational tasks.
