Wednesday of the First Week of Lent Sacramental Confession is a meeting with Christ. He gives us a grace when we come to Him to confess our sins. Lent is particularly appropriate time to awaken and form the conscience so as to make a Good Confession and thus live Christ’s resurrection in our souls. We have been given do much from our Lord — the sacraments, the Church, the infallible Word of God, and especially the Holy Spirit. These treasures of grace given to us are for us to love and glorify God by our using these gifts for neighbor and Him. Listening to God and Speaking to Him September 6th, 2009 Listen Now
Our Lord cured the sick and healed the broken hearted. In today’s Mass readings Jesus healed a deaf mute by placing his finger in his ears and saliva on his tongue. The healing power, however, did not come from these Sacramental actions, but from the words of Our Lord. This is the nature of the Sacraments — a physical manifestation of an invisible reality. Let us receive the Sacraments and be open to hearing the Word of God and speaking the Gospel to others. Posted in Healing, Ordinary Time, Sacramental Life | Tags: | No Comments St. Michael Time
