Contact Privately Temptation and Evil October 14th, 2009 Listen Now
Jesus Christ allowed himself to be tempted. We too suffer temptations and trials which are actually opportunities to prove our love for God. God promises that no temptation will come to us that we cannot handle, for He always provides a way to escape. In this fashion we certainly need not fall into temptation and avoid the devil by God’s grace. Posted in Ordinary Time, Perseverence, Prayer, Spiritual Life | Tags: Our Father | No Comments
Forgive Us Our Trespasses October 13th, 2009 Listen Now
We are sinners. Sin is always an offense against God. We commit sins and offenses every single day in which we need to say, God, be merciful to me a sinner. We need to thank God that we are able to recognize our sins and draw near to the fountain of divine mercy and say, Father, forgive me my sins. Our Daily Bread October 12th, 2009 Listen Now
Give us our daily bread, the fourth petition of the Our Father, but what does this mean? The Lord taught us to ask for bread, that is, for everything we need, material goods, health, hope, love, and joy, compassion, and all gifts that He gives us. The Will of God October 9th, 2009 Listen Now
The Second Petition of the Our Father is for God’s Kingdom. When we pray for God’s kingdom to come we pray that God will enter into our life more fully. The Third Petition is that God’s will shall be done on earth as it is in heaven. We need to be fully open to God’s will in all aspects of our life. The Our Father & the Name of God October 8th, 2009 Listen Now
In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches that we can call God, daddy. We learn that we are His children and thus we need to struggle to behave as his worthy children. Hallowed be His name. We are to treat the name of God with respect and honor. This is the first of seven petitions of the Our Father. If we love God, we will sincerely love his holy name. We will be discussing more of the Our Father, tomorrow and on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.
