Martin J. Amos, Bishop of Davenport Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Martin J. Amos, Bishop of Davenport, is inducted into our Hall of Shame, for his decision to allow a homosexual activist student to be presented with a scholarship award from Eychaner Foundation's Gold Matthew Shephard Scholarship, a pro-homosexual group, during commencement at a Catholic High School. No one is disputing that this student cannot have this scholarship, but when has it become a tradition to announce college scholarships during a High School Graduation Ceremonies? In this case, the scharlorship is one in which the qualifications are, according to the Eychaner Foundation website: Openly LGBT Iowa high school seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, an ACT score of 22 or better, demonstratable LGBT activism and community service, and a history of high moral and ethical standards and conduct. Thus, this scholarship is to praise and encourage teenage sodomy, and to display perverted morality and ethical standards in utter conflict with Church teaching. Teachers and administrators are complicit in this crime against this young man for not considering his soul. Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa Thursday, July 1th, 2010 Roosevelt High School is inducted into our Hall of Shame for distributing a flyer to students studying the history of the Cold War that praises Communism and disparages Capitalism. Click on graphic to enlarge. The CAPITALISM side of the flyer shows workers in tattered clothing, chained to a machine that delivers all of the money produced to a cigar-smoking man who is also much better dressed. Over on the COMMUNISM side, there is no boss and the smiling workers are better dressed, don't have chains on their legs and the money goes back to them The narrative that went with this cartoon states: Communism stands for equal sharing of the work according to the benefits and ability. But in Capitalism an individual is responsible for his works and if he wants to raise the ladder, he has to work hard. While the profit of any enterprise is equally shared by all in Communism, the profit in the Capitalist structure belongs to the private owner only. As of this posting Roosevelt High School Principal Kathie Danielson has not commented. To express your opinion about this Principal Danielson can be reached at: Kathie.Danielson@dmschools.org Read the rest of this entry » Tags: Posted in Secondary & Elementary Schools, Society | No Comments »
