Hall of Honor
To celebrate those who stand up for Truth

Pope Benedict XVI

June 15, 2010
The tyranny of liberalism has laid waste the Church for over 100 years. Pope Benedict XVI has now said enough is enough. For his call (and warning) to bishops and priests to shape up and fly straight we induct Pope Benedict XVI to the Hall of Honor.
Here is the story reported by LifeSiteNews:

Pope Warns World’s Priests Against Heresy
By Hilary White
VATICAN CITY, June 11, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Sin, satanic influence and the toleration of heresy lie at the root of the priestly sexual abuse scandals, Pope Benedict XVI said today. Precisely because it is an institution erected by God to make himself sacramentally present to all men and women, the devil is interested in destroying the priesthood, he said.
Referring to the line in Psalm 22 (Your rod and your staff – they comfort me), Benedict became explicit about the need for the rod of discipline to correct errors in the Church.
The Church too must use the shepherd’s rod, he said, the rod with which he protects the faith against those who falsify it, against currents which lead the flock astray.
Today we can see that it has nothing to do with love when conduct unworthy of the priestly life is tolerated. Nor does it have to do with love if heresy is allowed to spread and the faith twisted and chipped away, as if it were something that we ourselves had invented.
Pope Benedict spoke today to 15,000 priests at the closing Mass of the Vatican’s Year for Priests at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
The priesthood, Pope Benedict said, is not pleasing to the ‘enemy,’ (the devil).
He would have rather preferred to see it disappear, so that God would ultimately be driven out of the world. And so it happened that, in this very year of joy for the sacrament of the priesthood, the sins of priests came to light – particularly the abuse of the little ones, in which the priesthood, whose task is to manifest God’s concern for our good, turns into its very opposite.
With evident personal sadness, the pope again extended his apology to the victims of sexual abuse, saying, We too insistently beg forgiveness from God and from the persons involved.
This was followed by a promise to do everything possible to ensure that such abuse will never occur again by more scrutiny and better formation of those who apply for the priesthood.
Statistics on the abuse scandals have found that the abuse cases are overwhelmingly homosexual in nature and occurred between the 1960s and 1980s, at time in which psychological and theological trends were against excluding men with homosexual inclinations from the priesthood.
Benedict, as Cardinal Ratzinger, was clear with a 2005 document issued from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the office that had oversight on the abuse scandals around the world, that men with such inclinations should not be admitted to seminaries.
Benedict also made more subtle references to the movement from the Church’s extreme left wing to open the priesthood to women and to married men. Among the opening lines of his homily, Pope Benedict laid out the nature of the priesthood, saying it is not a matter of mere functionality but a sacramental reality derived from Christ himself.
The priest is not a mere office-holder, he said, like those which every society needs in order to carry out certain functions.

LifeSiteNews reports:

Steve Jobs Says iPad Revolution Means ‘Freedom from Porn’
by Peter J. Smith
CUPERTINO, California, May 18, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computers, says his company will not be a party to the pornography industry and hopes that the iPad and iPhone revolution will help lead to a porn-free world.
Jobs reiterated his position in a heated e-mail exchange with Ryan Tate, a writer for Gawker.com, which follows news and gossip in Silicon Valley and elsewhere. Tate, who admitted that he was home alone and slightly inebriated at the time, took issue with a television ad calling the iPad a revolution and fired off an e-mail to Jobs.
If Dylan [American songwriter Bob Dylan is one of Jobs’ favorite musicians] was 20 today, how would he feel about your company? Would he think the iPad had the faintest thing to do with ‘revolution?’ Revolutions are about freedom, Tate wrote, not expecting a response from Jobs.
However, Jobs did respond to Tate, triggering an e-mail duel. Yep, freedom from programs that steal your private data. Freedom from programs that trash your battery. Freedom from porn. Yep, freedom, responded Jobs. The times they are a changin’, and some traditional PC folks feel like their world is slipping away. It is.
However, Tate accused Jobs of imposing his morality by having Apple forbid pornographic applications for iPad. I don’t want ‘freedom from porn.’ Porn is just fine! And I think my wife would agree, fired back Tate – who later said he regretted mentioning his wife.
Jobs shot back, You might care more about porn when you have kids.
Apple’s CEO pointed out that competitor Microsoft has the right to make whatever rules it wants on its platforms; developers who do not comply simply go elsewhere, and can do the same with Apple.
We’re just doing what we can to try and make (and preserve) the user experience we envision, said Jobs. You can disagree with us, but our motives are pure.
In an exchange with customer Matthew Browning posted by Techcrunch.com in April, Jobs had defended Apple’s crusade to keep pornography off its products.
We do believe we have a moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone. Folks who want porn can buy [an] Android phone, he said, referring to the product of competitor Google, which has permitted a pornography store app for its smartphone.
Apple’s iPad and iPhone do not offer complete freedom from pornography – objectionable material can still be accessed via the Internet, and may be attainable through iTunes – but most pornographic clips cannot, since they require Adobe Flash products, which Apple refuses to support for a variety of reasons.
Clearly opposed to pornography, Jobs surely realizes he can’t make it go away completely, commented Sam Diaz, senior editor of ZDNET, last month. But he doesn’t have to contribute to the spreading of it – especially in a place where children often shop using a technology that many parents still don’t understand well enough to police.
Apple requires application designers to adhere to a company policy that could be described as pro-family: The iPhone Developer Program License Agreement (sec 3.3.17) states that applications may be rejected if they contain content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, sounds, etc.) that in Apple’s reasonable judgment may be considered obscene, pornographic, or defamatory.
Gawker reported that Apple twice rejected the app Gay New York: 101 Can’t-Miss Places because of its inclusion of obscene and pornographic imagery.
Apple began a major crackdown on app designers in February, purging objectionable apps that may have fallen through the cracks.

Ron and Kay Rivoli

October 22, 2009
Ron and Kay Rivoli (Rivoli Revue) are inducted into our Hall of Honor as true patriots. It is within a democratic society and free enterprise that the Christian ethic is best facilitated. We need to resist the current government that is pushing the United States away from the vision of the Founding Fathers and toward socialism and quasi-fascism.
Music is one of the best ways to present a message. The music of the Rivoli’s is excellent in support of the American ideal.
This first video is called Freedom’s Not Free:
This next video is rather insightful about the coming socialism called, U.S.S. of A:

Miracle Baby: Mother Successfully Battles for Right to Deliver Healthy Baby Despite Terminal Cancer
Nereyda is inducted into our Hall of Honor for her courageous stand in favor of the life of her unborn baby despite her cancer and the illegal pressure from the Insurance Company to abort her child.
Both Nereyda and her husband, Carlos, are heroes of Life.
Here is the story from LifeSiteNews:

Commentary by Georgia Froncek
Editor’s note: Georgia Froncek, a veteran pro-life sidewalk counselor from California, has agreed to publish her experiences with a cancer-stricken woman who was nearly coerced by her insurance company into aborting her child in order to obtain treatment.
LONG BEACH, California, October 15, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – When I pulled up to the Long Beach Family Planning Associates Abortion mill at on February 3, 2009 at 8:30 a.m., I saw my fellow street counselor Charlotte talking to an Hispanic man named Carlos, who was visibly very upset. As soon as I exited the car, Charlotte motioned me to come over to join the conversation.
Carlos explained to me that his wife and mother of five children, named Nereyda, was in the abortion mill because their H.M.O. insurance company would not treat her for her serious stage 4 sarcoma cancer – unless she aborted her 5-month-old unborn child. I replied in Spanish that this was illegal, and that we could help them obtain care without having an abortion.
He smiled and called his wife’s cell phone inside the clinic and told her to come out immediately. She came out within thirty seconds, crying and very upset. She explained that the HMO had called her for fourteen days in a row, pressuring her into the appointment at the Long Beach Abortion mill. After consoling the couple, I called an adoption counselor to help us find a sympathetic social worker, who met the three of us for breakfast to discuss a plan to keep the baby.
Next, we called a Spanish speaking social worker who again insisted that Nereyda could not be treated for her aggressive stage-four cancer without getting an abortion before her consultation, ten days away. We told the social worker that Carlos and Nereyda had the right to medical treatment because she was paying for her insurance through her employment. I told the social worker that I would go with the couple to the consultation, which made Carlos and Nereyda feel better. I was happy to go with them.
At the consultation, there attended one thoracic surgeon, one internal medicine cancer specialist and one high risk obstetric doctor. The thoracic surgeon displayed Nereyda’s MRI scan – revealing a huge tumor spreading tentacles around her heart, lungs, and other vital organs. I had never seen a tumor like that! I turned my head away from Carlos and Nereyda so they would not see that I was weeping.
I asked God for healing as I watched Nereyda holding her womb – concerned not at all for herself, but only for her unborn baby. The doctors said that this was one of the worst and fastest spreading cancers they had ever seen, and that without being able to shrink it with radiation and chemotherapy, it was inoperable, and Nereyda would die within two months. The high risk OB-GYN doctor us that Nereyda would have to abort the baby as soon as possible so she could begin the most aggressive therapy to prolong her life.
Carlos and Nereyda once again insisted they would not abort the unborn baby. With my background as a former pharmaceutical representative, I asked the doctors if they could use a drug called Adriamycin, which would not harm the baby in utero. The doctors said that they could use Adriamycin, although it would not provide the best or most aggressive therapy. I explained this to Carlos and Nereyda, who said that after the birth of the baby they would permit the use of stronger drugs. The doctors finally agreed, prescribing some very potent synthetic pre-natal vitamins, and reluctantly writing the couple’s wishes in Nereyda’s chart.
When the doctors asked us if we wanted the insurance company to provide us with an advanced health care directive, I answered that we would produce one. Later I explained to the couple that, had we not taken the initiative, the directive supplied by the HMO would have almost certainly reinforced the original decision to abort the child in case Nereyda took a turn for the worse. With the providential help of a doctor, a lawyer and a former corporate attorney – all strongly pro-life – I was able to draft a health care directive that ensured the baby would be safe from abortion.
Later that month, I sent emails out to many people requesting their prayers for Nereyda’s health and for the birth of a healthy baby.
While Nereyda’s cancer remains, she was able to deliver a boy by caesarian section on May 18, 2009 – three months after the doctors said she had two months to live. I was overjoyed to visit three days later to meet their new son, Angel Jesus Candalario.
Since then, the tumor has shrunk from chemotherapy – but Nereyda still needs our prayers.
This is a wonderful miracle and a touching testimony of one woman’s faith and obedience to God, despite the consequences to herself. I know Nereyda is a living saint!

Catlin

September 21, 2009
In 2001, when Catlin was a Junior in a Catholic High School, she was confronted with unorthodox views from her religion teacher. Her teacher told her privately that our Blessed Mother was probably not virgin, that Joseph was probably the biological father of Jesus, and that Mary probably sinned.
Catlin confronted her teacher. The teacher kept telling her that these things did not matter. Even after Catlin brought the catechism and papal documents to prove him wrong, the teacher would dismiss the evidence by saying that none of it was infallible.
Catlin reported that her teacher did not believe anything to be infallible (even the Bible) unless the pope has made a formal ex-cathedra proclamation. He informed Catlin that the Doctrine of the Immaculate Conception did not exist in the First Century. No matter what documents Catlin produced to prove the Church’s dogma, the teacher denied it. The teacher was, by virtue of his denial, a heretic even though he was a religion teacher.
Catlin did not find much help with the school administration concerning this religion teacher’s heresy. She stood her ground in spite of the pressure to let it go.
For this tenacity and noble defense of the faith in the face of heretical adults and other adults who would not support her cause even though this was a Catholic High School, Catlin is inducted into the Hall of Honor.
Catlin’s response to this honor at the time in 2001 was typical of a humble daughter of our Lord. She said, I hardly feel deserving of such an honor. There are people out there dying for the faith. I am just trying to do my job as a Catholic. I would like to think that any true Catholic would do as I would.
Congratulations Catlin. You have fought the good fight. You are a spiritual warrior of great integrity and honor, and an inspiration to us all.

"Light of the World"
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16)
