birth control pills QUESTION from john sarranko March 20, 2000
My question to you is: is it a sin as a Catholic physician to prescribe bcps to a patient. I understand the Church's view on abortifactants but dont see how this includes regular bcps. I've been thinking about this alot lately any help you can give me would be great. Peace to all. ANSWER by Mr. John Miskell on April 6, 2000
If he's dispensing them to be used for birth control reasons then yes. If he's dispensing them to control an ongoing medical problem then no. Bear in mind that for very good reasons, the Church condemns all forms of artificial birth control. You might take a look at my last answer about NFP and BCP's. John Miskell Back to Index Page
