FOR PARENTS
CONCERNING SAINT-MIKE.ORG CONTENT

We believe that, except for the sections specifically mentioned below and a few select other pages, this site contains no material that a parent would consider unsuitable for children. The content of this Site, however, is aimed at adults to provide resources on the Catholic Faith.

We do not currently have any section of our site that is designed specifically for children, except for the Homeschooling Section. Some sections we specifically restrict to those nineteen years or older such as the Q & A Forums and the Bulletin Board Discussion Groups.

In addition, the Order of the Legion of St. Michael in all its websites fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). This Act prohibits the collection, use, or distribution of personal information from children under the age of thirteen without the verified permission of the parents. Verified permission is defined in the strictest sense as "print-and-send via postal mail or facsimile, use of a credit card or toll-free telephone number, digital signature, or e-mail accompanied by a PIN or password".

More information may be found about COPPA at: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/1999/9910/childfinal.htm

The Order of the Legion of St. Michael, however, has adopted a more strict policy as to age requirements. Unless otherwise specified in our Protocols or other material concerning our services we restrict the use of our services to those persons 19 years of age or older.

As a general rule, please instruct your children not to give us or any other Internet Site their name, address, or e-mail address, or to sign up to receive our newsletters or services, or provide any other personal information to anyone without your permission.

To assist parents in the task of evaluating Internet Content, we are in the process of labelling various sections and pages with the PICS-based rating system of the Internet Content Rating Association. Links to other websites, however, are provided as a courtesy to our visitors. Such websites are beyond our control and may not be labelled.

Two Sections of our Website we consider not suited for children. The St. Michael Question and Answer section may contain mature questions and answers not suited for young children. The CSGPA (Catholic Support Group for Sexual Addiction Recovery) section may contain mature conversations not suited for young children.

There may be other individual pages that are not suited for young children. We will label them as such as we find them. If you see a page that is not suitable for young children, please contact the Webmaster
