Independent study: What Caused Sex Abuse scandal

May 19, 2011. (Romereports.com) The questions that constantly come up in the sex abuse scandal are why? and how? A new independent study by a prestigious criminology institution tried to answer those very questions. The findings show that no single factor provoked the abuse of minors by priests. It wasn’t caused by mandatory celibacy or homosexuality.
To understand why the abuse happened and how it can be prevented, the U.S Conference of Catholic Bishops hired the John Jay College of Criminal Justice of the City University of New York. The study focused on cases that happened between 1950 and 2010.
The five year study shows the abuse peaked in the 1960?s and 1970?s when the country was going through its sexual revolution. It was this factor which mostly influenced offending priests. The study says, they had vulnerabilities, intimacy deficits and an absence of close personal relationships before and during the seminary. It also shows many of the abusers grew up in families where sexuality was never discussed.
Researchers say, offenders mostly chose to victimize boys because they had more access to them, not necessarily because they were homosexual.
Critics argue the study doesn’t shed enough light on why repeat offenders weren’t expelled immediately by the Church. They also say more support was given to offending priests than victims.
The study looked into thousands of reports and interviews, which are now summarized in the 142 page report. It shows that only five percent of clergy were credibly accused of abuse. Ninety percent of the cases happened before the year 1990.
The U.S Conference of Catholic Bishops hopes the study can help other dioceses from around the world, to understand and prevent these type of cases from happening again.

Is Heaven Real?

The famed scientist and arrogant idiot Stephen Hawking not only thinks heaven does not exist, but that those who do believe are just afraid of the dark. (for that statement, Hawking will go into our Hall of Shame). He said that the brain is just a computer that eventually stops working and thus, There is no Heaven or afterlife for broken-down computers. That is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark.
As proven by St. Thomas Aquinas belief in God is reasonable. In fact, it is an unreasonable position to not believe in God.
Whether or not God exists is not a matter for science. Science deals with the material and visible universe, not the realm of spirit. For any person to use his credentials and fame in science to declare anything at all about God only shows that he is an idiot and a bigot. It also show that the person is very unscientific in his teaching.
In this debate a little 12-year old boy bested the great Stephen Hawking on the existence of Heaven:
Rabbi David Wolpe is correct when he says, Science measures things that are visible, that are measurable, and because it does it starts to assume that’s all that exists.
There was a time when scientists thought that germs did not exist and anyone who proposed its existence was a quack. When science chides anything that cannot be currently observed and measured they cease doing science and begin practicing religion.
Stephen Hawking is not a scientist, he is a religionist because he operates on his own brand of faith, not science. Hawking said:

There is a fundamental difference between religion, which is based on authority, [and] science, which is based on observation and reason. Science will win because it works.

Yes, religion is based upon the authority of God. God cannot be seen directly in this life, but He can be seen indirectly. Science has similar attributes. We know the quark exists, not because we can see it, but because we can see the effects of the quark. We can see the effects of God and faith. Observation and reason show is the existence of God.

(Rom 1:17-22) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, He who through faith is righteous shall live. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse; for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools…

Hawking is not only a fool, but he knows nothing of reason.

Osama bin Laden is dead

Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, March 10, 1957 – May 2, 2011), arch-enemy of the world, is dead. He was the founder of the al-Qaeda organization, responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States and numerous other mass-casualty attacks against civilian and military targets. He was also a member of the wealthy Saudi bin Laden family.
The President of the United States made this announcement on May 2nd.
The President is a fool to say that we are not at war with Islam, but that is another article.
Should we rejoice and celebrate Osama’s death?
We can certainly be happy and relieved that this evil man has finally been stopped and that he received the due justice he deserves, but to jump up and down in revelry over anyone’s death is not appropriate.
I pray for the man’s soul. Nevertheless, as a Vietnam vet I would be proud to be on the Seal Team to take him out, even to be the one to pull the trigger on him. That is the job of Special Forces in time of war, and this is war.
Some people suggest that bin Laden should have been captured and brought to trial to showcase and fully establish his crimes. I am not sure that would have been wise. Given who he was and the nature of his game to do that may have fueled the terrorists even more. We should not have given him a platform to spew his evil rhetoric. That is not a problem now, since bin Laden did not give the Seal Team a choice.
It was a very wise decision for the U.S. military to document with photos and DNA the body of bin Laden and then bury him at an unknown location at sea. His grave would have become a shrine to all terrorist out there. As it is he will be considered a martyr for their cause.
Such ends one chapter in the violent history of Islam. A new chapter begins and one that is equally as dangerous.

White House Easter Prayer Breakfast

There are two things that strike me about the presenters of the Prayer Breakfast.
One, the person giving the prayer was a female bishop. I grimace when I see Christ so disregarded as to allegedly ordain women; even moreso when a woman is appointed a bishop. Of course, I guess it doesn’t matter. These ordained women are not real ministers or bishops anyway. In addition, the Protestant denominations do not have legitimate churches, thus it does not matter what they call their ministers, except that it confuses the public. But, that is for another time.
The main show here is the speech by President Obama. Words are hard to come by to describe the illness that every legitimate Christian should feel in listening to this man spout religious rhetoric (most likely for political gain). His words are relatively accurate about Christ, but his motivation is suspect, and his actions speak far louder than any words no matter how eloquent.
This is a man who demanded that all Christian symbols be covered when he spoke at a Catholic university, a man who spurned the Prayer Breakfast until he got political fallout, a man who encourages and facilitates the murder of babies not only in this country but around the world, a man who pressures Congress to continue funding the fundamental and systemic corruption of Planned Parenthood — an organization that not only murders babies, but facilitates child sexual abuse, child prostitution, and underage sex trafficking. Even if one is pro-abortion, integrity would demand the shut-down of any and all funding to this corrupt entity. In addition, Obama supports and defends fake marriages between sodomites.
Yes, Mr. Obama, there is something about the Resurrection. It proves that Jesus is God. As God his teachings are inviolate and are to be obeyed. Those who fail to obey God, as you do Mr. Obama, run the risk of damnation.
Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15). His commandments include not murdering babies and not promoting sexual perversion.
Abortion and homosexual sex are an abomination before God. No person claiming to be Christian can support this evil.
Jesus said that we shall know them by their fruits. St. James said that faith without works is dead. The fruits of Obama are anti-Christian and pure evil. Obama may claim Christian faith until the cows come home, but genuine faith blooms with good fruits. A claimed faith without good works is a dead faith, according to St. James. A dead faith is not faith.
St. Paul says that salvation comes by grace through faith. Without faith, or a faith that is dead and thereby no actual faith, the journey of that person is headed into eternal perdition.

Are you Blaspheming God and do not know it?

Blasphemy, according to the Catholic Dictionary, is:

Speaking against God in a contemptuous, scornful, or abusive manner. Included under blasphemy are offenses committed by thought, word, or action. Serious contemptuous ridicule of the saints, sacred objects, or of persons consecrated to God is also blasphemous because God is indirectly attacked. Blasphemy is a grave violation of charity toward God. Its gravity may be judged by the capital punishment on the Old Testament, severe penalties of the Church, and in many cases also of the State for blasphemous speech or conduct. In order for a person to sin gravely in this manner, he must use blasphemous expressions and realize the contemptuous meaning of what he says or does. (Etym. Latin blasphemia,blasphemy; from Greek blasph_mein, to speak ill of.)

Few will disagree that saying God’s name in vain, cursing and damning things, and other similar language is inappropriate. But, what about minced oaths?
A minced oath is a kind of euphemisms used to avoid swearing when expressing surprise or annoyance. The minced oath changes the curse word or blasphemy in such a way as to still make the curse or blasphemy, but not actually say the word. Here are some common examples. Great News! Two and a Half Men Canceled

The greatest news from Hollywood. The most morally reprehensible TV show, staring one of the most morally reprehensible actors, as been canceled for the rest of the season. This is wonderful news. There has never been a TV show that has been as morally evil as Two and Half Men. The character played by Charlie Sheen has no moral compass at all, is sexually perverted and debauched, and utterly hedonistic. Sheen is the right choice for this part since he is personally sexually perverted, hedonistic, debauched, and without a moral compass. More than that, Sheen seems to be imploding right in front of our eyes. This man surely needs our prayers.
After Sheen’s rant yesterday on the radio, CBS pulled the plug on the show (see story).
In my opinion, the producers, directors, and parents of the child actor, Angus Turner Jones, who plays the underachieving son, Jake Harper, should be up on charges of child abuse to bring up this child in such an atmosphere, albeit fiction. Such abuse of children is commonplace in Hollywood and many child actors and actresses have been victims of it such as Brooke Shields,, Dakota Fanning, and Olivia Hussey (in the 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet) and many others. In the case of Shields, Fanning, and Hussey the primary exploitation was sexual involving these children in what would otherwise been considered child pornography.
The only issue worse that the show Two and a Half Men is the popularity of the show. It has been running for eight years. Eight Years! of reprobate, hedonism, alcohol abuse, debauchery, and sexual perversion under the guise of comedy. In one sense we cannot blame Hollywood for producing such a show since it has been perverted from the beginning, but we can blame the audience who keeps this piece of dung on the air. Sheen gets paid more per show than any other actor in history. The show is a phenomenal success. Shame on you people who watch this show.
The reason the show is so successful is most probably because of the psychological concept of sublimation. Our culture is in a sexually perverted down-slide. The show represents the secret and perhaps even subconscious longings of the viewers to engage in such sexual and hedonistic nugatory largess.
Good riddance to the show. Pray for the soul of Sheen.

The Fallacy of Protecting Others

My Beloved:
I watched a movie last night that had a familiar theme. The name of the movie doesn’t matter as this theme is repeated in countless movies, TV shows, and novels. The theme goes something like this:

A woman has cancer. She is in remission. She meets a guy and falls in love, but doesn’t tell him about the cancer. One day, the cancer comes back. Instead of telling her boyfriend, she pushes him away, yells at him, and tells him that she lied when she said that she loved him. The boyfriend is in shock and confused. He doesn’t understand why she is acting this way and saying these things.

What is happening is that the woman has decided on her own that it is not fair that her boyfriend have to care for her as she dies. Thus, she tells him nothing, but tries to make him hate her as if this is the most loving thing she can do.
Well, blah, blah, blah. This idea is the biggest pile of bull pies around. I just want to reach into the TV or the movie screen and slap these people on both cheeks and shake them until they give up their idiotic pride and selfishness.
Folks, we have no right to decide things for other people. To make a decision for someone else like the woman in the scenario above is the height of pride, arrogance, and selfishness. It is disrespectful to her boyfriend. How dare she do this! She is not protecting her boyfriend, she is protecting herself at his expense. She doesn’t want to feel the pain of rejection that might come if her boyfriend knew. Of course, she has no problems making her boyfriend feel rejected. Gosh, I just wanna slap that girl.
It is not like the boyfriend will not find out. Someday soon the girl will be dead and he will figure out what she was doing. He then may feel resentful that he was robbed by her pride and selfishness to spend the last remaining months with the woman he loved.
What we owe each other is the truth. Tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may. I have tried to be truthful in my dealings with family, friends, acquaintances, and the public. This has caused great grief at times — estrangement from family, losing friends, and the public turning their backs. But, being truthful has also cause great joy, redemption, reconciliation, and loving support that at times surprised me.
God is truth. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the Life. Thus, to be God’s child, to be all that God made us to be, to live as Christ wants us to live, we must tell the truth. That means setting aside our egos and pride and stop making decisions for others and stop worrying what others think if they know the truth about us. Give them the dignity and respect to make their own decisions. If the decision they make is to walk away from us, then accept that and move on.
I am a chief of sinners. I walk with clay feet. I eventually disappoint almost everyone who comes into contact with me. I disappoint God and our Blessed Mother constantly. That is the truth. If family, friends, and the public can’t handle it, then they are free to choose to turn their backs on me, and a few already have.
We all must walk with this resolve to tell the truth no matter what the consequences. If we are reviled, slandered, or rejected as a result of the truth I am reminded of something St. Francis de Sales said in his book, Introduction to the Devout Life, Let us always keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ crucified and go forward in his service with confidence and sincerity but with prudence and discretion… (and if people react badly to us because of the truth, we are to accept it as mortification as it will) make us profit by holy humility, of which a single ounce is preferable to a thousand pounds of honor.

Mainstream Actresses are Porno Queens

Nearly 90% of all legally distributed hard-core pornographic films made in the United States are either filmed in or produced by studios based in the San Fernando Valley, mostly in the Chatsworth, Van Nuys and Canoga Park areas.
While the San Fernando Valley is considered the home to the porno industry it is not the primary producer of pornographic material. The world headquarters for soft and medium core pornography is the mainstream motion picture studios, popularly known as Hollywood.
The first mainstream and family movie to break the nudity barrier I believe was Romeo and Juliet directed by Franco Zeffirelli in 1968. This movie is perhaps the most beautiful and best film rendition of Shakespeare’s famous play. But, the movie is ruined by the gratuitous and utterly unnecessary nudity in the bedroom scene after Romeo and Juliet were married (at least they were married). In a quick flash the bare breasts of Olivia Hussey (Juliet) was exposed to the audience. And we were also exposed to the bare bottom of Leonard Whiting (Romeo).
When I first saw this movie in 1968 I was furious at this idiotic and unnecessary scene that sullied an otherwise great film. At 13 years of age I was not opposed to seeing the bare breasts of a girl, but even at 13 I was angry. I actually came out of the movie theater steaming in anger.
Leonard Whiting was 17 (legal age in Britain) at the time of the filming. Olivia Hussey, however, was only 15 and thus Zeffirelli had to get permission for her nude scene. What pervert parent would give permission for this? The parents should have been prosecuted for sexually exploiting their daughter in child pornography.
Since Hussey was 15 years old at the time, this otherwise great movie is actually child pornography. Technically if anyone has a video of this film they could be prosecuted for possession of child pornography and imprisoned for up to 10 years.
Why did Zeffirelli think he needed to have a nude scene in the first place? Why did he feel he needed to exploit a 15 year old? For money, of course, and for ideology. Once-in-awhile a Hollywood director will admit that they know exactly what they are doing and are doing it deliberately not only for money, but to change culture (I would say pervert culture). There is an agenda in Hollywood, as there is with all media, including this blog, but their agenda is perverted.
Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet was the beginning of the slippery slope that has now come to the open, normalized, and even celebrated perversion of Hollywood films. The generations younger than mine now think nothing of nudity and sex in any film. It has become standard and expected. Not only is nudity and sex scenes in nearly all films the characters in the sex scenes are almost never married to each other. This is not only a open perversion of gratuitous nudity and sex, but a promotion of the crime of fornication and adultery.
Such media promotion from film, TV, and music has raped the minds of our children and is destroying the moral fabric our culture. We now live in an intense culture of sex. As goes the moral fabric, so goes the society.
The perverted film producers and directors, however, cannot create their pornography without the cooperation of the actresses and actors. Even if the public allegedly wants such filth, it still takes an actress or actor willing to take their clothes off for money and to simulate sex for money. There is little difference between this and prostitution. These mainstream actresses and actors are merely prostitutes-light and porno stars.
In case some lune doesn’t think this sort of thing is pornography, here is the definition from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:

2354 Pornography consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of spouses to each other. It does grave injury to the dignity of its participants (actors, vendors, the public), since each one becomes an object of base pleasure and illicit profit for others. It immerses all who are involved in the illusion of a fantasy world. It is a grave offense. Civil authorities should prevent the production and distribution of pornographic materials.

Nearly every actress, and a lot of the actors, are porno stars because they act out simulated sex on the film screen.
There is no justification — ever — for a sex scene in any movie. There is no justification for nudity in any movie. Not only is there no necessity for such things, it is a failure in creativity.
I remember a film from the 1950s with Robert Mitchum, I believe it was. I no longer remember the name of the film, but I do remember the scene. It was a scene in which the character played by Mitchum was talking to a woman through a window at a motel. After talking for a while he entered the woman’s room and they had sex.
How they depicted this was brilliant and extremely creative. In the window was a radio playing. When Mitchum went inside the room, the camera remained focused on the window with the radio. The radio went off-air for the night. The camera remained on the window. Then dawn broke and the radio came back on the air. Mitchum had been with the woman all night. There were no sounds, other than the radio, so sex scenes, nothing. But, the point was made.
Creativity is made with there is discipline, rules, and standards. Creativity fails when there is an incontinence of those things. Unbridled freedom is actually slaver. The film producers in those days had restrictions on what they could depict. That restriction gave birth to a wonderful creativity.
There are few restrictions today, and little to no creativity.
We must all play our part to protect the moral integrity of our culture. Film producers and directors need to repent of their perversion and take responsibility for the films they produce, actresses and actors need to stand up to the Hollywood machine and refuse the exploitation of their bodies and sexuality, and the public needs to let Hollywood know that this continual unending perversion must stop.

Planned Parenthood Culture of Lies

Planned Parenthood, since its inception by Margaret Sanger, has been a culture of lies. They have lied about the purpose of abortion, Sanger’s eugenics motive, and about every other aspect of their being and activities. As the most evil organization on the plant who’s spiritual father is the Father of Lies (Satan) we should not be surprised.
In yet another instance of their lies revealed concerning the statistics of teenage sexual activity. The secular organization Center for Disease Control affirms the lies of Planned Parenthood in a recent study:
