The quest for physical and sexual perfection has reached knew lows. In fact, I am not sure it can get much lower.
We have already seen the immodesty of the fashion industry (mostly dominated by men) that exploits women, movies and television use women as props and sex objects, the disgusting practice of beauty contests for little girls dressed up to look like whores, the fetish of youth were sex with children is a common theme in movies and among comedians (let alone in pornography), the nonsense of cosmetic surgery to lift the face, the rear, the tummy, and who knows what else. Even teenagers are seeking these surgeries. The parents ought to be up on charges.
Now the quest for physical and sexual perfection comes to the private parts. Nip and Tuck surgeries on the genitalia is becoming all the rage. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reports that there was a 30 percent increase in vaginal rejuvenation alone between 2005 and 2006. This is despite the fact that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) has warned that the cosmetic “vaginal rejuvenation” procedures are unproven and potentially risky. The National Women’s Health Network agrees.
Some of the procedures are designed to reconstruct the woman to enhance the sexual pleasure of the male. These procedures are the same as at least one of the many reasons the African practice of female genital mutilation is performed.
Yet woman seek this and doctors provide it. The women need therapy, the doctors need to have their license revoked.
The quest for physical perfection is based on one central issue -- we are unsatisfied with who we are, we do not trust God, and thus we wish to be something we are not. Physical perfection has become a god.
The quest for sexual perfection is based on hedonism, the quest for pleasure for pleasure sake, it is just plain lust. This is based on the abandonment of the purpose of sex as God ordained it. Sexual pleasure has become a god.
We need to stop, folks. We need to stop and re-evaluate our attitudes. We are all contributors to this phenomena. Everytime a woman wears clothing that is provocative, revealing, "sexy", or otherwise immodest she is contributing to this demise of our culture. Everytime a man looks at a porno magazine, lusts after the woman walking down the street, or encourages the women in his like to dress immodestly, he contributes to the demise of our culture.
Everytime a man or woman thinks that they need to "spice up" their sex life with tools, toys, or techniques that serve to "enhance" the sexual experience apart from the mutual self-giving that sex is suppose to be between a husband and wife, then that couple is also contributing to the demise of our culture.
Our Holy Father encouraged us to support and promote a Culture of Life. Let us stop this culture of death in fashion, physical appearance, and sex. It must begin with us for we are all accomplices.

Senator Barack Obama recently announced the formation of a Catholic National Advisory Council for his campaign. He said that he was “deeply honored to have the support and counsel of these committed Catholic leaders, scholars and advocates.”
But how can a group of dissidents who claim to be Catholic yet disagree with the Catholic Church on the most fundamental public policy issues (abortion, embryonic stem cell research and school vouchers) possibly "advise" Obama about Catholic issues?
This so-called "Catholic Advisory" group includes the following people (with their approval rating from NARAL (one of the most radical pro-abortion groups in the country):

There are only two "advisors" to Obama that are not supported by NARAL.
Former Senator Daschle was told by his bishop to stop calling himself Catholic in his brochures due to his errant views in violation of Catholic teaching.
This shows that Obama is utterly out-of-touch with and completely insensitive to Catholics.
