Contact Privately The Poor Widow November 23rd, 2009 Listen Now
We should never be afraid to be generous or embarrassed if our gift cannot be as big as our neighbor’s. The poor widow could only give a penny. It was all she had. Jesus considered her gift to be greater than all the others. We need to give sacrificially for the love of God and our neighbor. Without Waiting for a Reward November 2nd, 2009 Listen Now
Jesus said if we love those who love us, what credit is that to us? Even sinners do that. Christian charity transcends human charity. As Christians we need to give of ourselves, help the poor and the infirmed, and do all sorts of good works without any expectation or want of any favors in return. Christians give for the love of God and expect nothing in return. Posted in Love, Ordinary Time, Our Neighbor, Service, Stewardship | Tags: Acts of Mercy | No Comments
Following Christ September 30th, 2009 Listen Now
Following Christ requires detachment. The material goods of this world are merely a means to a higher end of caring for family, educating children, benefiting society, helping the poor. We should never be so attached to material things that we avoid helping our neighbor or impede our growth in Christ. Posted in Abandonment, Ordinary Time, Poverty, Stewardship | Tags: | No Comments
The Time and the Moment September 25th, 2009 Listen Now
We need to live in the present moment. The past cannot be changed and the future we cannot know. God has given us this present moment in which to live for Him, to love Him, and to produce fruit. There is a time for everything under the sun, the bible tells us. Let us sanctify each and ever moment to our Lord. Posted in Ordinary Time, Stewardship | Tags: | No Comments St. Michael Time
