Contact Privately The Good Ground September 19th, 2009 Listen Now
Hearts which have become hardened due to a lack of contrition are incapable of receiving the divine word. Jesus plants the seed within us, but it must fall on good ground for it to grow and blossom. Let us work to be on good ground by avoiding even the smallest sins of our daily life. Posted in Confession, Mortification, Ordinary Time, Spiritual Life | Tags: | No Comments
Waiting for Jesus December 24th, 2009 Listen Now
As Mary prepares for the birth of her Son, she show us all the spirit of Recollection and of Prayer. Her speaking to her Son is a prayer as prayer is talking to God. Even her gaze at Him is prayer as it is when we gaze upon the Blessed Sacrament. Let us ask our Blessed Mother to give us that same interior spirit of recollection and prayer. Temptation and Evil October 14th, 2009 Listen Now
Jesus Christ allowed himself to be tempted. We too suffer temptations and trials which are actually opportunities to prove our love for God. God promises that no temptation will come to us that we cannot handle, for He always provides a way to escape. In this fashion we certainly need not fall into temptation and avoid the devil by God’s grace. Posted in Ordinary Time, Perseverence, Prayer, Spiritual Life | Tags: Our Father | No Comments
Forgive Us Our Trespasses October 13th, 2009 Listen Now
We are sinners. Sin is always an offense against God. We commit sins and offenses every single day in which we need to say, God, be merciful to me a sinner. We need to thank God that we are able to recognize our sins and draw near to the fountain of divine mercy and say, Father, forgive me my sins. Divine Filiation September 11th, 2009 Listen Now
Our Lord God, our Father, wishes to make us his sons and daughters. He has given us the dignity of being a member of His family. As the King’s Kids we receive many benefits including the privilege of talking to our Heavenly Father as a child taking to his daddy. We no longer have to struggle on our own through this life because we have a Father who loves us and helps us. Posted in Blessings, Family, Love, Ordinary Time, Spiritual Life | Tags: | No Comments
The Look of Jesus October 11th, 2009 Listen Now
The greatest wisdom lies in finding Jesus Christ. There is nothing to be preferred to Christ. Health, wealth, beauty, youth, gold, anything at all that we place before Christ is a great folly. Posted in Abandonment, Devotion, Love, Ordinary Time, Spiritual Life | Tags: | No Comments
The Our Father & the Name of God October 8th, 2009 Listen Now
In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches that we can call God, daddy. We learn that we are His children and thus we need to struggle to behave as his worthy children. Hallowed be His name. We are to treat the name of God with respect and honor. This is the first of seven petitions of the Our Father. If we love God, we will sincerely love his holy name. We will be discussing more of the Our Father, tomorrow and on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. Our Feet of Clay November 24th, 2009 Listen Now
We all have feet of clay. One thing that is always before us is our sinfulness and weakness. But, God promises that no temptation will overcome us that we cannot handle and that He does not provide a way of escape. Trust and lean upon Jesus and through His sufficiency we can live the victorious Christ life. Posted in Abandonment, Faith, Humility, Ordinary Time, Spiritual Life, Virtue | Tags: | No Comments
To Want to See the Lord September 24th, 2009 Listen Now
Please excuse the tardiness of getting this meditation online. Our server was down for many hours last night. Purifying one’s sight in order to contemplate Jesus in the midst of our everyday lives is a goal we should all seek. Many people, we read in the Gospels wished to see Jesus. Some, like the Pharisees, saw Him but did not really see him. Let us genuinely seek to see our Lord with purified eyes. Let us say to Him each day, Thy face, Lord, do I seek. To Serve October 18th, 2009 Listen Now
Christian life consists in imitating Christ. In every thing we do and say we should ask ourselves what Jesus would do or say in the given situation. We are to follow His footsteps and put on the new man that is in concert with the mind of Christ. Posted in Ordinary Time, Service, Spiritual Life | Tags: | No Comments St. Michael Time
