Contact Privately Our Daily Bread October 12th, 2009 Listen Now
Give us our daily bread, the fourth petition of the Our Father, but what does this mean? The Lord taught us to ask for bread, that is, for everything we need, material goods, health, hope, love, and joy, compassion, and all gifts that He gives us. The Love of Jesus October 29th, 2009 Listen Now
Our refuge and our strength lie in the love of God. God has not left us alone in this world. Jesus promised he would be with us and indeed he is literally in the Eucharist. We need to be with Jesus everyday and in as much as we can to adore him in the Tabernacle. Posted in Blessings, Devotion, Love, Ordinary Time, The Eucharist | Tags: | No Comments
The Look of Jesus October 11th, 2009 Listen Now
The greatest wisdom lies in finding Jesus Christ. There is nothing to be preferred to Christ. Health, wealth, beauty, youth, gold, anything at all that we place before Christ is a great folly. Posted in Abandonment, Devotion, Love, Ordinary Time, Spiritual Life | Tags: | No Comments
The Our Father & the Name of God October 8th, 2009 Listen Now
In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches that we can call God, daddy. We learn that we are His children and thus we need to struggle to behave as his worthy children. Hallowed be His name. We are to treat the name of God with respect and honor. This is the first of seven petitions of the Our Father. If we love God, we will sincerely love his holy name. We will be discussing more of the Our Father, tomorrow and on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. Our Lady of the Rosary October 7th, 2009 Listen Now
The Rosary is a powerful weapon in the apostolate. At the Battle of Lepanto the rosary was credited for the victory over the invading Muslims. The entire month of October is dedicated to the Rosary. Let us dedicate ourselves to our Blessed Mother and to the Rosary. Posted in Devotion, Mary, Ordinary Time, Prayer | Tags: | No Comments
Mediatrix of All Graces September 26th, 2009 Listen Now
There is only one mediator between man and God, the man Jesus Christ. All things go through Christ. But, God has also asked us to participate in His Son’s mediation through intercessory prayer. The intercessory prayer is not only between us here on earth, but also between us and the saints of heaven. We pray very imperfectly as we see through a glass darkly and have not yet been perfected. The saints in heaven have been perfected and are in perfect union with God. The prayers of a righteous man availeth much as the Bible teaches us. No one is more righteous as those in heaven. Thus, God has ordained that we may petition the saints in heaven. They, in turn, being in perfect union with God, can perfect our prayers, make them perfect, and present them to God. Mary, more than any other, as the Queen Mother, is in position to do this. Posted in Devotion, Mary, Ordinary Time | Tags: | No Comments
Our Lady’s Faith September 5th, 2009 Listen Now
Saturday is traditionally dedicated to honoring our Lady. This is an opportunity to meditate on her virtues. This tradition goes back to the ancient Church. As St. Escriva says, Anyone who doesn’t some of them [Marian devotions], who doesn’t express his love for Mary in some way, does not possess the fullness of the faith.
